Justin, what are you basing this on? The posts you read here, or your brother's friend's sister's cousin's evil twin? How can you be sure 100% of all V-bar users had success since its release?

I can certainly tell you based on the local hobby shops, that 3G is flying out the door. They probably have sold more 3G in the past 2 weeks than they have V-bar all year. So you hear/read a couple of "problems", and immediately you jump on the reliability wagon. Did you ever think these problems you hear are probably less than 1% of all units sold?

Unless if you can provide some facts to back your claims up, you are just discrediting yourself with speculations...
So, did ReadyHeli move to Irvine, CA? Do you have any published sales numbers? If not, your speculations in bold above are FALSE without facts. Readyheli is the only authorized distributor of VBar. Don't get tripped up in your own proclamations!

Let's not let the facts stand in the way of a good story...I'd stay that sums up this entire thread.

Hopefully the SK720 and Total G guys will be able to have a civilized and factual discussion about the features, benefits, value and differences between those products and their proven counterparts - Vbar, Gyrobot and Skookum to a great extent.

Axiom, "the beast", 3G and the other price point offerings should really be the ones rolling around in the mud with each other.

Flame on!

Of course I don't have any sales figure either way, thus the word PROBABLY in my statement. Know the difference between "probably" and "assured of success"?

My point is, don't make any claims about any system unless you have personal experiences with one. You don't see me criticizing anything I don't own do you?

This thread is turning into a real circus. Let me get my popcorn.

Ironically, if everyone in this tread got together (anonymously) at a flying field we'd probably have a great time and celebrate our differences, support each other, laugh at each other and appreciate our unique/new setups only focusing on our passion...heli's and flying... Some day.

Steph -

Don’t bother with these guys... That facts are very simple, he even gave proof in his own question / statment.

ReadyHeli is one shop, how many shops sell align products worldwide? Do I need to say more?

Another thing, align is on what version of software? What version is v-bar on and how long did it take them to get there?

I think you are seeing a lot of mechanical setup issues with align unit. I think for a lot of people, this is their first time for FBL so they don’t understand about phasing and things like this. Plus like Steph made a very good point, Align doesn’t sell in hundreds they sell in thousands if not hundreds of thousands. So yes you are going to see more failer rate or issues to do with peoples setups with ANY align product.

I can’t say the unit is good or bad but I should have my 500kit here by Thursday! I will then know for myself if it is a good unit or not.

Kind of reminds me when I did some test for sjgd pg800 gyro. All the Spartan fanboys called it everything from a clone to junk. IMHO it's one of the best gyro's out and been running mine for over a year and a half.

Simple, in this hobby don’t bash one thing unless you have tried it. It seems that these guys already spent all their money on a v-bar and have no hobby budget left to try new things lol!!!

Is a good thing
ALign will out sell Mikado on 3G vs VBAR....it is a fact that will happen sometime if not already. (more like sometime to go)....but it is a good thing, we get more consumer on FBL and more investment from ALign and others on FBL....more expert will get on designing and finetuning the firmware......ALL Good for Consumer.

These discussions is great, because it show passions from us.....as sad at the end we all enjoy this hobby. And for good and bad, we enjoy everyone company in the field and on teh forum.

It's no different really then a new pilot buying a MSR heli it gets em hooked then the try something different or better they upgrade, it just opens more doors is all, all IMO buy and fly what you like and make decisions on your own and be open minded.

OK serious post, which is a bit of a novelty for me

currently I've got 4 Vbar heli's and I love them to bits, would never go back to FB but thats mainly cos when I crash I can waste an evening just extracting a bent FB (but they do fly good)

not got a 3G, why? because out here in the sticks they are a bit thin on the ground right now, been waiting for 2x FBL for my 2 Trex 450's (V2 and Pro) I'll prob get one miniV and one 3g but who knows, depends on delivery times etc.

Anyway to my point, I'm pretty computer savvy (can remember MSDOS3) but still don't think I've figured 70% of Vbar capabilities, for the non nerdy guy 3G sounds like a godsend

guys like Alan, Duncan etc could fly a lump of lead and make it look good so not much to learn from those vids really.

Also (a point often missed in these threads) is they can set up a heli way better than most of us, sure we get close but I know for a fact any of them flying being offered to fly yours or mine in public would prob do a complete stripdown and rebuild before risking their reputations.

My point is Vbar for the tinkerers (and I hope to :insert your favourite diety here: that Align don't steamroller the market but allow others to still play)
Align is for the weekend guys who just want to fly.

My biggest improvement was when I had a raptor30 I could let rip without ever worrying ..then I got the 50 then 90 bug and guess what my flying went backwards as quickly as my bank balance.. brown trousers for the win I think as the young un's put it

Long term as FBL catches on we should all end up as winners

OK apart from the flybar and paddle sellers.

Hoping to get a 3G soon and hoping to love it

But I'll never sell my vbars

Yes except when Align comes out with the computer interface, you will also be able to tinker the 3G all you want.

LOL...Seriously now when was the last time a new product on the market has caused such a commotion ?

All I know is the Align team must be laughing their hearts out with all the buzz this is causing. Whether it's good or bad, people ARE talking about it...

All I know is a couple of years back I wasn't impressed with align (had tried a few) but last summer when I decided to get the 700, it has changed my thinking.

I have switched to an all align fleet now, (Vibe on my sig. was traded for a 700) because they simply work and are affordable.(Wanting to stay mostly 90 size helps)

So I have on order 2 3G'S and can't wait to fit them on. I don't want to tinker, just fly as I am a weekend flier.

My opinion about people bashing align is that

1- they had an issue at some point (mostly older versions) and don't want to give them the benefit of the doubt

2- want to justify their more expensive products (As I might have done in the past) because they paid much more for them

3- Base their opinion on others bashing align because they refuse to try it themselves (Look #1)

You have to take into consideration the amount of products align sells.
Hundreds of thousands..More likely to have more people have problems with align products if you consider statistics..
They have changed the hobby, you can't deny that. A lot more people are in it because of them and although other brands are very good and even better maybe than align, align products keep on improving every day and keep things affordable for a lot of people. Not everyone has a Porsche..

Just try it for yourselves and decide...

Sorry for the long post

Revmax vs Revlock !!
Remember Revmax vs Revlock, that WAS a post !!!

You know what ? I think that we (I) are jealous of Align being successful at producing something not as good and selling it to the masses.

They are excellent at knowing the fine line between functionalities and price as well as pinpointing what makes peoples buy and short cutting the things that make a product stand out technically.

We are jealous because: They copy and, damn, they are good and fast at that. I feel that this hobby is simply a business opportunity for them, not something they love and live by like Curtis do.

I did own align parts for my custom heli, and I always end up changing them after 50 flights or so. They wear rapidly compared to Thundertiger or JR. I must confess the flight caracteristic as well as the mechanical layout of the 450pro impress me tough. Durability ? I dont know.

I don't think they copy. Others copy them.

They just chose to enter the market with a more affordable price range.
Their products improve as time passes and let's face it, for newcomers it's great because they don't have to spend the crazy amounts for parts of JR or Hirobo for example.

I only switched to aligns lately because after 2 years I am learning 3D and don't want to be paying an arm and a leg for parts when I ( and will) crash..

And at about 200-250 flights a year combining all my models, I do not wear them out.
Many different people in the hobby and it's good we have many choices.
