Hey guys,

Looking at getting some new 6S 5000mAh packs.

Now the Hyperions are more than double the price of some "cheaper" packs, but I done a bit of working out.

If the cheap packs were to last say 120 flights it would be the same cost per flight as if the Hyperion's lasted around 220 flights.

I have a question... How many cycles have you guys racked up on your Hyperion G3 packs? Do they really offer 3-4x the cycle life of normal lipo packs???

Cheers,

Laurence

I have two packs at 68 cycles and they are still as strong as the day I got them. I used to have another name brand and not one out of six lasted more than 53 cycles. If I can get 4 times more then I'd finish at 200 cycles, but I'd be very happy with 150 cycles.

Has anyone noticed how heavy the Hyperion packs are compared to other packs?

I have a few Hyperion 35C packs I have been tracking since they were new. I recently passed 100 cycles on 2 of them and they are still working great. Since I started keeping track of my lipos (and since flying 3D), these are the first packs out of many different brands I have tried that made it past 50-60 cycles without losing most of their power.

My oldest Hyperion's are a pair of 6S 4200mah VX that I used for 98 flights in my eAurora all last fall and then 50 more in another heli.

They were severely over discharged on more than 2 occasions, crashed once, then stored for the winter (Nov 2009 - April 2010).

They have always been charged at they highest possible current available (7+ - 10A).

These packs are now somewhere north of 180 - 190 flights and still flying VERY strong compared to a new set of 4200 VX's - power is consistent from start to finish - hard to tell the difference between both sets of packs.

They are also lighter than the HC packs.

Can't verify the x3 / x4 claim but these are the most durable lipos I've used to date. Will see what they look like if they make it through this season.

Want to see how these compare to the TP 45C's.

I got 2 12S 4500MA 35C packs yesterday, look forward to using them and seeing how the power compares to my 30C VPLUS lipos
