You have to set up throttle curves for idle up.

If this needs to be done in pheonix I still need direction because there is no programing in this radio. If it cant be done in Pheonix I guess I will use my DX7.

I got it now. I had to change the throttle to 100% at idle.
This thing runs rings around 3.5 and I have had 3.5 for 3 years and this for 3 hours. Great Sim.

Yeah the DX5e really doesnt have enough programming options for the sim, but its better than nothing.

In one sense, Horizon is doing people a favor by bundling the DX5e with Phoenix, but unfortunately, it's only a good idea for plankers.

For heli flyers, the DX5e can be made to work, but it's really woefully inadequate for heli flying simply because it is a non-programmable radio and lacks a sixth channel and any semblance of a flight mode switch.

Your best option is to sell the DX5e to a planker (or use it with a plank of your own) and use your DX7 to run Phoenix. Choose a new model memory, set it up like you would your favorite heli, and use the functions of the radio to control Phoenix.

Thanks dk. The only reason I got the DX5e was for a friend of mine so he could fly his spads and get out of FM.I tried it for a while when I was out of town with pheonix and now I am using my DX7 and this sim. rocks.

If you have a Dx5 (or any basic tx) you can simply select idle up, throttle hold, etc by using the PC keyboard.

I had that problem with a CX2 Radio I was using.
Emailed Phoneix, and they had me go into system setup, and change something. When I hit key "3" that put me into idle up.
I run a dx7 now and I forgot exactly how. Play with it, you will find it.
I also programed another key for throtle hold so I could do autos.

Glad I read this thread. Thanks for the tip KingJoe. My screen pops up the 1 and 3 key when you change models but it appears and disappears so quick that I wasn't sure what it was.
