yesterday since the weather was horrible i took one of my ravens and put it on a diet, with the century slim pipe it came out at 7 pounds even, today I'm going to drop in a rossi 57 with an outrage 56 pipe.the high rpm power band of the rossi (18500) should go perfect with the 8.67 gear ratio of the raven, and with 620 widechord blades at 2150 headspeed and 14/14 pitch I'm thinking it should an absolute rocket ship
and for added pop I'm installing the 7mm feather spindle head on it
what do you guy's think?
On monday I'm going to order up a set of swift 620 se metal grips along with it's 8mm spindle to really make the head ultra stiff. I did this setup on my radical and it worked out awesome.
any body have any other sugestions to make this an over the top insane 3D monster?
I've talked to a couple guys who have the 57 rossi and with a lower ratio like 8.7 or 8.8 they say it is unboggable and like flying a 90

WOW LOL
I know how the Raven (and Falcon) flies with big power, but I had 600s on mine,, it pulls like a Big Block Chevy, meaning with all that pitch it should have a lot of Tractable Pulling Power from the Hover Point to 80%/85% Throttle/Pitch, then Top Speed like a 90,, but of-course it all depends where your Engine and Pipe makes their power,

my Engine, a Silver Head OS 50 with the larger 60B carb and a Weston Mini Pipe with 600s would only pull 12 Degrees, yet it would give me a HS of 2100 with the Stock Gearing,,, all on 18% Nitro,, but no Governor back then, that would have helped LOL

I would mix 2 gallons of Magnum 12% with 1 gallon of Magnum 30% to get 18%,,

but ideally I think you are going to have more pull with the 620s and that big 57, and as you say you should be able to pull more Pitch,,,, WOW WOW WOW,,

LOL be careful on your fist few flight that you don't run it into the ground, as I almost did LOL LOL

Yeah i run 30% cy wildcat fuel, and the powerband of that motor with 8.67 gearing should be right at 2150 to 2200 headspeed.I can't wait to fly it, especially with as light as i got the heli.on top of that the cold weather will make more power aswell. If it works out aswell as i think it will, I'll do up another one of my ravens with this setup I already spoke for 2 more motor's( found a smokeing deal)If i could afford it i would get 5 or 6.who knows this setup might replace my 90'sLOL and for half the money and less fuel cost's.

man, I would love to try a new Webra 55 and mount an OS 60L or 60B carb on it which are larger than the Webra carb, but I'm not sure if it will be possible to do it, I have not seen the Webra 55 yet,, and with all the talk I don't think I wouldn't mind trying a TT 53 with an OS 60L,, I love home modified Engines

and then there is that KME 60 LOL

I have a buddy that has done the os carb on the tt53, he say's it really pulls but he's also one of my buddies flying a rossi 57 and he said there's no comparison.
that kme 60 looks awesome.but the specs are only a tick better then the rossi, of course untill a person flys them back to back in identical setups himself it's hard to say.
I'll tell you what ,you get me a kme 60 and i'll test itsound like a good deal?

We took that same Raven with the Rossi 57 and put a vbar on it and test flew it today. Very impressive power. The raven is so light. This thing will be a 50 monster once we get the vbar gov figured out. I kept having problems with overspeeding so I couldn't push it very hard. I might just put an align gov on it so it can be pushed a little harder, at least until I figure the vbar gov out.
