How are you guys that are running 8 volts hooking up to you rx? Do you plug straight from the bat to the rx? Or are you running through a switch?

I robbed my servos, rx and jazz off my 600 to build another project and I am putting it back together now. Was thinking about running 8 volts.

Align 620s
Futaba 2.4
Step down on the tail.

Thanks
Terry

Plug it right to the RX.If you have a Align DS620 on the tail then your good to go,but other 4.8V servos will burn up running a stright lipo with a step down.A step down "only" brings the voltage down from 6V not 8V,you'll need a Spektrum VR5203 regulator for most tail servos rated at 4.8V..

Thanks for the info. Was not for sure. I already have a step down on the tail so I should be ok.
I may go with a LiFe 6.6V? Still looking.

My choices so far is.
Bec with 5v
7.4 lipo
6.6 Life

I have alsways ran a seperate battery for the servos but I am sure the hv bec would also work.

Edit: Just re read your statment about the step down. Gotcha
