I just got started using the helicommand on a vario schwiezer with 3 bladed head. using rigid version and internal tail gyro with the gyro function in aux2 on the reciever. Have the gyro setup with gain and auto trim on the aux2 three position switch.

I have no idea how to adj the gain for normal and/or heading hold.

Also, do not know what exactly the autotrim does and when should you use it.
any help would be appreciated.

You can only have using the grey wire:-
1) Gyro Mode and Gain
2) Gyro Mode and Autotrim
or 3) Autotrim
If you choose 1) then you adjust the mode/gain using channel end points. Have a look at the diag tab whilst you change them.
If you use 3) then the gyro gain is set in the software on the gyro tab.
Autotrim is used after you get airborne and hovered for eight seconds, press Autotrim. It is used instead of the trims on the Tx. You may need to do this a couple of times to fine tune it. If you change orientation you may need to Autotrim again to prevent drift.
