Ghostrider,

Could you give some more information on the following from your post?
In my opinion, I feel the V-Bar system was designed more for the style of overseas pilots that fly slightly different than US pilots. These new FBL systems such as the Align system is designed for US pilots and I believe it will feel better to the average Joe than the V-Bar system does.
How do overseas pilots fly different? How/why is the Align system designed for US pilots?

Jeff

To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

I am also curious as to how you arrived at these conclusions. Also, I've been using vbar for a couple years now and honestly, I don't get how it's so complicated. I think anyone who's made it past the third grade should have little difficulty setting it up - even if they're American!!!

Seriously though, on what authority are you making these claims? Do you have history with these systems? Are you an insider, engineer, designer, critic or what? I just want to understand your logic.

Despite owning Skookum SK360 and most I most likely will purchase the SK720.......right now VBar would have to be it.
No, I don't own one.
So how did I come to this conclusion?
Look across the forums and you will find that the ratio of VBar owners with problems compared to the ones without problems is very..very low.

Check all the others and it seems to me that at most they own 5% ~ 10% market shares, but Users have the same if not more problems getting them setup properly or have some problems.
That can all be related to the same facts:
VBar has been the pioneer of FBL and has the greatest experience in design and development.
As it never was a cheap system, all efforts were focused on one product.

I´m playing around with FBL for almost 3 years now. At present I have 4 V-Bar, 2 Gyrobot 900, 2 AC-3X and 1 SK 360 in use.
If you use quality equipment (servos), do your homework on the ćorrect head-geometry and set the FBL-units up with patience, then you get almost similar result from the first three mentioned.
The biggest difference between the 3 is in support. The V-Stabi Forum is an unmatched support platform and will help unexperienced users a lot. From what I saw to date, I do not trust Align electronics, no bashing, but to be honest their motors, ESCs etc. simply suck (maybe I´m just too spoiled by Kontronik & co).
Lets see what the newcomers will bring, but simply looking at features and the data sheets, the SK720 looks the most promissing....
Just my 2 cents.
David
overseas pilots that fly slightly different than US pilots.
I guess to a certain extent you´re right, SOME European pilots really fly different, guess that´s why Dominik Hägele won the XFC and the 3DM in 2009

Flybarless
I have been playing with Flybarless for 3 or 4 years myself..

Currently I have 12 Flybarless machines running...

7 of them have Gyrobot 700's
3 have regular vbars
2 have mini Vbars

I have tried most of the other systems...(I even got to test the Protoype Helicommand unit at IRCHA)

and right now...I still think the vbar is the overall best...

I like the Gyrobot every bit as much as vbar...but for the new to flybarless crowd the Vbar may be more appealing due to the fancy interface and ease of setup....not to mention the fact that with vbar you can share flight files and have a pro send you a setup file which you can load into your machine.

The units I tried and didn't care much for were the Skookum 360, Rondo, and Align 3G

The Total G and Beast X look good but it's too early to say how good

I have never tried the AC3X...can't get em in the USA unfortunately

All German FBL Systems just work and do the Job. Knock yourself out wich One you get. Even the Beastx will Rock. But if you really want to be sure go with the proven ones named bevor. Regards Pete

In regards to the SK360, I am assuming that's because it is a 2 axis FBL system.
Is that why?

Hopefully, you will be able to get your hands on the TotalG, SK720 and the BeastX.
Myself and I am sure a lot of others would value your opinion on these units.

YES YES and YES...

I should have all 3 very soon...at least as SOON as they come out that is

maybe sooner...

I didn't care for the skookum 360 because it is a 2 axis system just as you mentioned...it works okay...but just not quite the level of the vbars and other 3 axis systems.

You can count on me sharing my opinions when I try these units out

I took a beating a couple weeks ago when I expressed my displeasure with the Align 3G...but that was to be expected...

Of these 3 new units I am really looking forward to the Beast X...that is the one to watch for...especially because the cost is so low...if it works It is going to kill the competition...

the Total G and Sk 720 are going to be about the cost of a Vbar($400-$460ish)...the Beastx Is about half or less than that ...($220ish)

BTW...I have kind of made it my personal mission to try every flybarless system I can get my hands on

Kind of same here: I ordered the BeastX within 2 hours it got available at Freakware in Germany unpatiently waiting for TG and SK720

BTW Anthony, you sort of forgot the HC3-Xtreme, just hit the stores here in Europe. It looks luxurious and you can have a look at the corresponding PC-software, which is downloadable on their home-site.....

HC3-Extreme
I actually flew that system at IRCHA 2009

I installed it and set it up on one of my machines at IRCHA ...of course it was a prototype unit back then and it had a lot of things that needed improvement...

I hear that since I was testing it at IRCHA they are going to let me try one of the new units out as well

Anthony

BTW...this is what it looked like you can see they even put "prototype" on the case ...lol...
