I'm trying to get some input on the Torsion carbon 205 blades from pilots with direct experience using these particular blades. Or any rotor blade guru.

My concern:

I'm planning on running close to 5K headspeed for aerobatics on the 250 . My concern is these blades are so flexible in the span I'm wondering if they are susceptible to flutter ?(Chord or twist flex amazingly is non existent!). I plan on trying these when I get my lipos. Maybe I can get a yeah or nay on these as far as safety goes? I'm less concerned about how they fly, even though that is a monster concern, but safety first!

Thanks.

I think you answered your own question.your'e gonna fly 3d and you know those blades flex like crazy.I'm sure you know a stiff blade is needed for 3d. so why not go with the align 205d's? there cheaper and perform great in any application.

I'm running the Align 205D's at 5100rpm and they work great at $21 a pair.

Hey,

I was recently running these blades and the Torsion paddles on my little 250 without problems.

Yes, they are very flexible along their length but this cannot be seen in flight and I'm confident in saying that the faster the main rotor rpm the less likely they are to flex in flight anyway as they will be held outwards by centrifugal force.
I pushed my little 250 hard with these and never had any reason to be worried about a boom strike in flight.

With the stock plastic paddles I found them a little too soft for snappy 3D, however teamed up with the extremely lite Torsion paddles and I had to turn the swash mixes down

If however you want lightening quick cyclics then the Torsion paddles and the Align 205D's are the way to go, but this them makes a machine too twitchy for aggressive 3D.

Incredible!!
5K+ rpm! As the head speeds seem to climb higher and higher, I'm curious as to what rpm the plastic threads on the paddles start to shear? I wonder if the speed of sound can be reached at the main blade tips? Do I hear 6K? Drive on!!

Thanks everyone I really appreciate everyone's input! Sorry I'm late for responding.....

I was doing searches and never found out about these blades , except for a author-less review on a web site which sort of gave them a thumbs up. At least now there may be a search result...

Aligns will be my blade of choice for all the above reasons mentioned. They are a tough act to follow IMO.

Thanks.
