I'm almost embarrased to say that after almost two years, my Mini-Titan is completely bone stock.
That's great. I would go with this advice and Fender's. This heli is great stock. Don't waste your money on a bunch of upgrades before you even fly it. I flew a stock on and it was my favorite. In fact, I have a Rave and I just picked up another MiniTitan because I missed it so much. Plan on flying it stock as well. Stock motor and ESC are excellent. If you don't want the regular motor and want more speed, the SE motor has a bit more kick and is an excellent motor. I'm going to install some DS287MGs in mine.

Funny, I had some S-75 servos in mine including the tail and they were EXCELLENT.

Well I can compare Bone Stock to the SE as I now have one of each
I will make sure there is no play in the plastic and the bearings when assembling the Stock one.

Finally got the little ship finished, Here is the set up.

CF 325mm mains from HeliDirect
http://www.helidirect.com/high-qual...-trex-p-576.hdx

Futaba 9257 TR Servo

Futaba GY520 gyro

JR DS285 MG on cyclic

JGF 500TH motor with 11T pinion on it (for starters)

CC Phoenix 45 esc

Weight RTF with canopee and with out Batt 1.42lbs

Was able to get in the first trim flight today and What a nice little ship I really like the MT and I could tell a difference in it from the Rex 450's I have had in the past.

Smooth and Stable are the first two words that come to mind when I lifted it off the ground. No 3Din but just flyin around for couple batt packs it sure was nice it is a Keeper.

The ship is Bone Stock (plastic version) exept motor and esc I just cant say enough about how it flys, a real joy.

Snow moved in and kept me from flying more than a couple flights cant wait till it clears up again so I can get out and wring it out a little, at least my old man version of wringing it out

Glad you like the MT. We have identical set-ups except for gyro (401 for me). If you're available Friday, stop by the Lake Barrington Field House between 11am-2pm and take her for a spin.

Snow will be with us until tomorrow morning.

We have about 3" of new flakes as of 2:30pm in Schaumburg,

Thanks for the invite unfortunately I will be out of town for a week and leaving on fri but if the invite is still open in a few weeks I do get into the City and would like to get together with ya for some flyin.

I am working on an MT SE that I picked up, I am debating of keeping the stock SE motor in it or putting one of my scorpion 2221-8 with 12T pinion in it.

I have already taken out stock esc and put one of my CC Pynx 45 in, this one will have HS 65MG on the Cyclic and GY 520 with JR DS3500G TR servo.

So what do you guys say about the motor??

Stock SE motor or Scorp 2221-8? all I have are the 12T pinons for it.

I have 2, one is an SE and the other is flybarless and both are 2221-8 powered. Since I sport fly and mild airplane style aerobatics I am running an 11t pinion on both. Both run 12 - 16amp in flight at 2500 rpm. My son-in-law has a stock MT w/ stock motor and it's OK but not as consistent as the Scorpion.

Well the Scorpion is going in the SE all I have is the 12T pinion so that will have to do. All I do is mild airplane aerobatics also.

The stock SE motor is actually an upgraded motor. That said, I have no idea how they hold up. My "basic" MT kit had the stock red motor that ran very hot. It also had a bearing go bad after about 120 flights. I tried to replace it but couldn't get the bearings out so I decided to get the JGF500TH.

The Scorp 2221-8 is a great motor. I guess if it were me I'd put the SE motor in and give it a try. It will probably feel very similar to the 2221-8. If/when you have a problem with the SE motor, you'll have a replacement ready to go while you try to service the SE motor.

The invite is always open. Let me know when you think you might go to the Field House as I don't go every Friday.

Dave

ps, I'm actually located appx 20 miles west of the city.
