That's an 18C. You can see the select fire lever along with the porting slots on the barrel and the hole on top of the slide for the gasses to escape.

Thanks. Looks like modifying a G23 for selectable firing modes wouldn't be a practical project. I'm fast, well-practiced and accurate though, so the change would only be for shets & giggles anyway. And besides, it's much harder to CCW a Glock with a shoulder stock installed.

Not likely, they seem a great deal more complex than a standard glock.

I never really was a big fan of glock myself. I always liked the standard grip angle of the XD or a 1911. They point naturally. Every time I draw quickly with a glock I end up aiming above the head.

Not likely you could convert a 23 to an 18 as an evening project ... and if you did want to try, I wouldn't recommend talking about it on a public forum.

I've been telling people this for years. I know that people get used to the grip angle of the Glock with practice, but the 1911 grip angle doesn't require any "getting used to" ... unless you've already learned bad habits by shooting Glocks.

After reading 100's of comments about Glocks here and elsewhere over the years, I've come to the conclusion that firearm satisfaction is highly subjective like a lot of other 'tools', including RC helis.

Through several thousand rounds my Glock 23 has never once misfired, and my groupings at the range are approaching competitive grade. My bud on the detective bureau here (16 years on the force) swears by 'em. He carries a 27 in his boot and a 22 in his holster, and consistently scores high at his range.

I always wanted to know what a full auto grenade would be like.

The Glock is actually a lot like the Raptors were a few years ago. Not really the best at anything but good at a lot of things and reasonably priced. They are a useful tool, but just a tool.

To me the 1911 is the perfect blend of beauty and function. My Delta Elite is about as perfect a pistol as I have ever handled.

I give up on Loctite, nothing lasts long enough to vibrate loose anymore.
