This looks cool! Different approach of enjoying your GPS. How about some inputs for those of you who own one.

Thanx in advance

@ $269 I doubt they are around for very long. Samsung just announced free voice turn by turn gps in their new smartphones. I'd say these GPS standalone units won't be around much longer.

Interesting gadget, but no way I would spend that much on it.

I have GPS on my Samsung Instinct S30 and yes... it works great! However, It is to my understanding that GPS on cell phones will always have its weakness because its integrated with the carriers service, therefore.. it will be limited to your coverage area and possible loss of signal. The standalone has direct link with the satellites. Much more effective in regards to signal anytime and anywhere. I just purchased a Garmin 265WT with unlimited traffic. This unit rocks! Has features that my TeleNav just cant match IMO. So as far as the standalones going away... I highly doubt that will be anytime soon, if at all.

To save $269 is why.

I guess I don't use them enough to really speak on them. I used my iPhone in Maui and had zero issues with it.

I wonder if it has a built in patience limit. If you continue to make wrong turns I would like it to say, "WTF, aren't you listening ?"
Mine just keeps saying "Recomputing".
Add a little humor to these things.
