If you're curious where I disappeared to, check out http://www.martyhammersmith.com. I'm not selling anything. It's just my new personal website. I come from a full scale aviation background and I'm sort of working my way back there. I've pretty much parked the helis for a while and am enjoying a stable homelife with my fiance, and our shared hobbies. I'm more or less an empty nester. I'm now building a Fisher 202 single place Experimental aircraft that I have been drooling over for some 20 years. The time is right to make "someday", now!

Got the Pantera out yesterday. Perhaps it was the cold but it just wasnt as much fun as it used to be. I can't get full scale (real) airplanes off the brain. I'm in the market for a Maule. I used to own serial #20 a few years ago. #18 is for sale right now as are a couple other beautiful M4's and M7s.

Well, this is where I ended up. I probably won't mess with the helis too much this year. I just bought a full restored, Oshkosh runner-up. It's a 1946 Cessna 120. If I fly solo there will be room to take a heli along.

I owned a 120 years ago. My Dad had a J-3 and every year or so we would swap off for about 6 mos. When I has the 120 I would do a little traveling as it got across country pretty well. Cozy airplane, with two average guys, my Dad always had to keep his arm on the seat back when we flew together. The other day I was cleaning up and found the original operation manual and parts catalog. You are welcome to have them if you dont have a set already. The operation manual still had notes stuck in it from my Dad.

I can fit a heli in the airplane! If I go alone I can carry the heli, transmitter etc. There are a couple airports within an hour's flight with the Cessna 120 that have r/c fields or clubs at or very near the airport. I'll have to try that out.

That 120 looks sweet, congratulations. We still miss our 1956 Cessna 172, or at least Lynn does, because she hasn't cottoned to the 1954 Bonanza, which replaced it. Getting an Oshkosh winner is a special airplane, you're a lucky fellow. Thanks for the update.
