Jay,
I do not see any bashing in this thread: It´s plain verbalized head scratching from disapointed fans of CYE products who are asking themselves what went wrong on the way of bringing this new product to the market. As myself, many others here are wondering which are the reasons for which CYE voluntarily gives up on a large chunk of the FBL-market right from the beginning. Let´s put it straight: from a marketing perspective CYE screwed up an I think they know they did. It´s not bashing speaking out loud -in a calm and unemotional manner- what a lot of people are thinking. For sure TG is going to be great.....but: there are other great FBL-systems of competitors out there or in the pipeline as well
-and I asume all of us here in the FBL-section know that-!
David
p.s. JR is definetly NOT Spectrum.....at least here in Europe where you can have a JR radio with just about any 2.4 GHz system on the market, FASST f.ex.....

Yes, you're quite right, point taken. As I already noted, I was intending to use a TG on my next FBL build. I too am a little baffled on the configuration of the unit.

Lets not forget "The Man" has been sponsored by JR/Spectrum for some time now. I hear that when CY recieves a new product from JR, he hands it straight to his dad, who in turn takes it apart and "fixes" it to his high standards and lets JR know what he did and how it worked.

I'm thinking Futaba offered nothing to the R&D of the TotalG, so in turn, Futaba will have to wait for a TG/V2. I'm sure CY has no intention of excluding Futaba, and will have a compatible unit as soon as costs permit. This day and age, no business can survive while spending money carelessly.

The less a man makes a clarative statement, the less likely he is to look like a fool in retrospect.

HeliFisher,
1. JR and Spectrum are "married" only in the US in terms of JR exclusively offering their radios with 2.4GHZ technology from Spectrum. In the rest of the world JR and Spectrum operate seperately and you can buy JR radios f.ex. with the FASST technology from Futaba. This means that large numbers of users of JR radios outside of the US are being exluded from using TG in this configuration.
2. I already wrote this but I will gladly repeat myself:
Including parallel pins in the unit for the patch-wiring to a full size external RX is NOT a question of costs or RnD, quite to the contrary. Everyone writing such fairy-tales forgot to inform himself about the basics of the technology behind these products....

Everyone is jumping on CYE here, but why is no one pounding on Futuba. They seem to be the ones dropping the ball here by not releasing satellites aka S-Bus RXs. When CY announced the Total G last summer the talk was that Fubaba would have new RXs ready by the end of the year. They have not.

Seems like the title of the thread should be "Futaba why are you guys asleep at the wheel. You are holding us back from enjoying the latest trends in the hobby"
