I agree with the above.

Alot of people can't drive cars and we're gonna give them a flying meat grinder?

FAA is having a hard enough time keeping up with GA accidents!

Yes,, if your talking about the single prop tail setter (POGO )
that they have listed ... should fly pretty good and be a lot of fun .

This looks like a cute idea. My fear is that it would be like the Osprey and be a tricky bird to drive. We looked at various ways to gain a stable transition, but unless you have a third rotor you will have a handful in transition flight. The vectored thrust machines like the XF 35 are better to drive, at least from my perspective, and even they will eat you alive if you screw up even just a little. There are some great vids on vectored thrust crashes. The Osprey has been on the dirt many times for issues, and the Marine drivers are pretty skilled.
I am just not sold on a GA bird that transitions, it is just to tough to master. Cool concept. Your tax dollars at work.......
Way back in the day Cessna and Ercoupe (aka urpcoupe) made airplanes that were going to be for commuters.... you see them at your local GA airports. The C-150 is called "Commuter". Good luck with that....

I have to agree with you that this will be tricky to fly for the average joe public .
But I see more UAV military uses for this than for public ... The public thing is just a ploy to get joe public to help say yes we will let the gov. fund reaserch on this bird .

Also ... right now the funding for this project is solely on the billfold of two NASA engineers ... no tax dollars until they get this proof of concept flying ,,,and maybe not even then .
