Just follow the flashing lights, but use FAI/F3c mode instead of 3D mode. It will work much better that way.

502 Kevin, not 520.

Anyway...........

It's not as intimidating as you might think. Plug the gain lead into the switched gyro channel. The radio menu will work since it's effectively an ATV for the gyro channel.

Scroll through the menu on the gyro that selects AVCS, NOR, or CMT. Set it to CMT. One side of the gyro menu will thus correspond to gain of AVCS, and the other side will be NORMAL. Trim the tail first in normal. Set the gain for both to about 50% to start. The home screen on the gyro will tell you what the actual gain of the gyro is. Refer to that and not what the menu on the transmitter says. You'll see the letter "A" on the screen when you're in AVCS. You can use either 3D of FAI mode depending on your tastes for piro consistency and hold. As you feel it out (literally), just be careful with letting the tail stop abruptly until I help you work out the delays in the gyro's menu that help soften the stops and protect your t/r transmission.

Feel free to ask be specfic questions WRT set up, and I'll take you through it step by step.

ok great. i will need all help i can get. im in the midst of installing my servos and since im here can i ask more questions. i know i can go into the raptor 90 forum but since im here, i just want to make sure i get best use of my servos before i install the gyros.
ok look at the photo.
here's the servos i have.
3 s9202
1 Hitec 475HB
1 Hitec 675MG

im using 1 of the S9202 on the tail with that GY502
but does it matter where all the rest go.
where should i put the other 2 S9202 and the Hitec 675MG since that's a Metal gear. i was gonna use the Metal gear on the pitch? the one that makes the swash plate go up and down and the 475HB on the Throttle.
does that sound right?
