I got a set of Hyperformance dampers on my synergy and i have noticed a bit of play on the head (up and down). Is this normal?
I'm running the se blade grips and i think the medium spacers.
Im sure it didn't have the play before a crash i had.
Has anyone had this problem before?

If its the entire head and mainshaft with play, check to make sure your collar has not slipped.

Make sure you are using two spacers per side. If you are using one spacer per side then this is incorrect and it will produce play no matter how much you tighten the bolts on each side of the spindel. Refer to the manual on which group of shims will provide each level of dampening. Up and down play could be a number of things including the main shaft collar not being adjusted properly to not having the jesus pin engaged through the mainshaft and head (Bkervaski is an expert at that specific technique of building and will be glad to ellaborate on all the advantages it provides).

You too can have 22deg positive pitch with the "Bill" mod, only $49.95.

Hi. thanks for the replies.Sorry i worded it wrong. When i said up and down i meant the blade grips can seesaw slightly. I'm only using one spacer on both sides but that's all i used before the crash. Its only a very small amount of play but i know it all makes a difference. Ive just ordered some new dampers so we will see if that changes anything.

Yeah and while you're at it go ahead and put two shims of the correct widths per side as I said before(last time I posted I'm fairly sure) because that's what the manual states and that's gonna be the solution to your play from side to side. Its your heli so build it however you want to but without shimming the head with normal dampening (page A19) with a thick and thin shim per side the head will remain loose(1 thick shim). You are wanting to reduce the play correct? Lots of people are using stiff dampening on the N9 and it flies even better. There's nought to be afraid of. Try it and I bet you'll like it.

thanks i just thought you had to put enough dampers to stop it from going side to side but i was wrong.
I have put both dampers on it now and the play was still there then i noticed i had not tightened up the screws on the bottom of the main hub when i tightened them up the play went away. Made me look like an idiot.
Thanks for the info anyway.
