Amazing. I have never seen a 2-stroke sportbike before. I sure would like to ride one of those. Check out the rgv 500 dyno.

RGV250
Was around 60 B.H.P stock/130 M.P.H.Tuned nearer 80 b.h.p.Some of the 1000cc sports are near the same weight now with 170+ B.H.P.Things move on real fast.

If you want REAL power in a bike then 2-stroke is the way to go. Unfortunately too many people killed themselves because they couldnt handle that much power with so little weight. It was reputed (probably not factual but seemed everyone I knew believed it) that the Kawi KH 750 was resposible for more deaths than any bike ever made.
It took 1000 4-stroke cc's for my 83 Eddie Lawson replica to make 104 HP and it was something in its day. Cant recall the vintage but I had the small KH500 kawi when I was in my teens, man that bike was an absolute blast.
IDK who posted the RD 350 but I also recall a Canadian release of the RZ 400 based on that same platform but it was evidently a little too hot for the US at the time.

anybody remember the RZ350 Yamaha??? (NOT the RD 350 or RD 400). The Kenny Roberts Special, circa '84 or '85???? Twin cylinder 350 2 stroke. They pulled the motor from that and stuck it into a 4 wheeler frame.....called it the Banshee. That motor is still in production.
That quad hurt me a few times. I had a downstroke on the RZ350 and had to back out because my ex got preggers. That was a nasty little street bike. Didn't weigh much more than a dirt bike. What a sweet sounding bike. 2 Cylinder, 2 stroke, pegged going down the road.

Now, I will say, I've got a Pro-Level 2 stroke woods bike that is just plain nasty, but I recently rode a good friends maxed out Honda 450 4 stroke, that thing is just crazy powerful. I could hardly hold onto it.
4 strokes have come a long way in the last ten years when it comes to off-road. But....nothing better than the sound and smell of a 2-stroke on race gas.......

You are right fla heli boy. I've ridden some tricked out 250 2-stroke dirt bikes but I haven't ridden one yet that compares to my 450. They can usually beat me around the corners though because they are lighter, but on the straights I am flinging mud and rocks at them.

I can not remember the last time I rode or seen a Bulltaco
I'll see Jim's Bultaco and raise him a '73 Hodaka 100 -- my first 'desert love'.

Anyone have or remember the Honda CR480?
Not me, but I fondly remember my '85 Honda XR350. At least the color scheme remained the same, wot Wot?

Bundy, what keeps your chamber from getting dinged flat?

Is it some sort of titanium/unobtanium alloy?

Katoooom! One of the few left that still make 2-smokes. I'm not sure if you can even get 80 2-strokes any longer, Honda came out with the CRF150R a few years back and I'm sure the other mans soon followed with thier own version. If it wasn't for AMA alowing 250 2-strokes to run with 250 4-strokes (amatuer) you probably wouldnt be able to get any 250 2-strokes anymore either. For all I know that "new" rule may have already changed anyway.

ACKopter: Cape Coral is two hours due south of Tampa, 30 minutes north of Naples. Right at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee Rive. Actually the river divides us from Ft. Myers. Pretty much just one big town with a river in the middle. We're the "bedroom community" for Ft. Myers. Most people live here and work across the river.

I see, did you ever ride/race at the Clewiston track? I'm originally from Delray Beach and it was either Clewiston or Hyatt cycle park down in Pompano for us. Man Its been soooo long ago I cant even remember any details.
