I've researched the internet on the subject and have talked to many resellers and have come to the conclusion that I don't fully understand ( nor many others) HOW this unit functions... So for those of you who are enlightened...I appreciate the help..

I have completed the calibration process with my 9303...
In reading thru the available posts I'm understanding that the Rotor RPM cannot be HELD by the TJP Unless first reached by the throttle curve..Is this correct ? Example:

I have in NORMAL flight mode a 0/ 50/100 throttle curve and a -10/0/+10 pitch curve. My head speed at 0 pitch (1/2 stick) is 1500 rpm..
Throttle jockey is set for use in Flight modes 1 and 2. Is it correct that if I copied this same throttle and pitch curve to flight mode 1 that I could expect the TJ to hold 1500rpm ( my max unloaded RPM) and that only by INCREASING the THROTTLE curve of Flight mode 1 to reach 1750rpm at mid-stick ( 0 pitch and INCREASING 50 TO 65 IN THROTTLE Curve) should I expect the TJ to hold that( 1750) RPM ? If this is true what function does the radio GOV program play in RPM ? I've read to start at 50 setting and that by adjusting this number my RPM is adjusted to reach my target . I have tried this, But moving that number up or down appears to have NO effect on my engine RPM in this test. IS this because I'm not starting at ZERO but at 50 ?

I'd appreciate an understand revelation in getting this gov going

A little more info is needed.

Do you have the gear channel set to GOV in the device SEL menu?

And, do you have a copy of the TJPro manual?

Hell... I can fix that.
Uh oh..
Nope.
It's ***ked!!!

I find that false, My throttle curve gives me about a 1800 headspeed and I can still activate the governer and reach whatever headspeed I want. You must be doing somthing wrong because raising the number in your radio should raise your headspeed. I would go through your manual to make make sure you have everything hooked up and setup correctly

When using a governer, the throttle curve's main purpose is to act as a backup plan in case your governer fails

this may help you

George appreciate the link ....and Have reviewed the Youtube before all this....

Intructions do say that the one of the factors for TJ working is that the target RPM has been reached..
I would think that if your RPM was not near the target RPM at ZERO pitch...You're not going to get their when pitch is added..Thus the curve has to be modified...
If this is not correct..Then you should be able to jack up the numbers at the GOV function in your Radio and the RPM rise accordingly to reach the Target...

Would there be an effective way to test the Increase number in gov funtion on the radio in relation to SERVO movement without running the engine ??

Are you sure that your sensor is wired up correctly? And that the sensor is about a millimeter away from your fan magnets? leads going into the governer itself are plugged in to the correct polarity?

hmmm must be somthing in the radio then, unless of course your TJ pro is used. When I got mine after a few flights it wouldnt work anymore, turned out to be a cold solder joint. The red LED still came on when the magnets passed over the sensor but it couldnt send the info over to the throttle servo, just a thought.

Possibility.....It did come with the heli... IS there any way to test the pulse to the servo from the TJ ?

It would seem that the adjustment from the GOV screen on the radio should cause movement in the throttle servo.

May just send it to the Manufacturer just to see if they say it is working...

The governer will not interact with the throttle servo until the governer is activated, its not active until you reach about 20% throttle, a green light on the gov should illuminate when active. Cold solder joints are easy to see under a magnifying glass, if your not "solder savvy" you could find someone in your club that is to check it out for you, very very simple fix as well

I don't know if this will help but here is a link to a thread I have started on getting my Throttle Jockey Pro to work.

https://rc.runryder.com/t563633p1/

In have not been able to do any more testing.
Weather has been pretty bad. I hope lowering numbers will engage the gov.

Thanks, TheWoodCrafter

with my 9303 I have to run negative numbers to get it to work. I have recalibrated about 20 times and every time I do it needs negative numbers to work right. i have had a couple reps look at it and they have no clue on it either. I learned to live with it and I set up all of my helis this way now cause I know how my radio is. Try negative numbers and see if that helps.
