This was my first RC heli back in 1991. It was a GMP Cobra and I was just learning to hover. Well, apparently I didn't have the receiver connected securely and it vibrated loose as I began adding throttle. Luckily I hadn't actually become airborne when the receiver stopped working or else...

That was lucky, at our club years ago a battery was mounted in the canopy of a schluter heli boy and the canopy fell off with the battery unplugging. The resulting short flight was spectactular. Now a days we call that type of flying 3D!

If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!
