I should receive my TDR in March so I should be getting an email from Jan Henseleit pretty soon to ask me what I want or don't want with my shipment. I know the only two options of the three I mention available now are the V-Bar and Mini V-Bar. I'm soliciting opinions on what will be the projected best option at the time. I really like the idea of having one box with two small 2.4ghz receivers to plug in. I am a minimalist and love the idea of simpler is better and/or less is more. OK, unload your opinions on what you think I should get. Thanks in advance.

flybarless
I think the Standard Vbar is still the best option on that machine...there isn't a good place for the mini on that machine I don't believe...and considering the standard one now does the Satellite RX thing...you should probably go that route.

I know someone who has a Gyrobot on the TDR and it works okay...but not quite perfect...

OK, is the standard new one all in one box (sensor/receiver/computer) and like you said two plug in satelite receivers should be used? I am not farmilliar with the size of the mounting area and the size of the Mini V-Bar but I was thinking it will all fit very easily. Don't know where I got that idea but I want to say I have seen a picture of the Mini V-Bar in a TDR but I'm not sure about that. Thanks.

Vbar
The full sized vbar actually is a 2 piece unit...

BUT now that I think of it...Timo W is flying a TDR with the Mini Vbar...maybe you should drop him a PM or look at his posts...he has posted a few vids here as well.

I have the GyroBot is working quite well now but there is a Total G in the not so (as compaired to TRD delivery times) distant future

I have the new V-bar with satellites.
This is the best option for it.
Don't forget that using the mini V-bar on large heli will break mikado warranty.

Tooly, OK, I understand that you have the new fullsize V-Bar that uses the sattelite receivers. What I want to know is, is the new V-Bar like the Mini V-Bar in that it is the receiver bus, sensor and computer all in one box? I appreciate you pointing out to me that the Mini V-Bar warranty is void if it is used in a larger machine. Thanks.

Basically, Yes.
Most of the users that tried the mini on larger machines had a good success.
The issue is the filtering vibartions is difficult on electric helis (larger especially)
The regular V-bar can filter them since he use a seperate sensor and the mini don't.
Since the new unit is just 2 pieces without regular rx, I prefered to get this unit and get the warranty and support from mikado in case of problem.
Also if the system has damaged, you can change only the sensor in the regular unit.

Tooly, OK, that's good info and I see you have the newer two piece V-Bar but is that unit now offered as the standard unit with the TDR? Thanks again.

I suppose now it's the standard, since the new unit replace the old one, it depend on what the seller have in stock at the moment.

That's good info! I'm sure the Mini V-Bar warranty will be covered by Mikado if they support this in the TDR. Thanks for the info.

I just got an email back from Jan Henseleit and he says that he may be offering the Mini V-Bar with the TDR by the time mine is ready.

I want the Mini V-Bar because it's everything all in one small unit. There is just the Mini V-Bar and two sattelite receivers, that's it. With the regular V-Bar, you have the sensor external to the V-Bar unit. That's the reason I was considering the Total-G as well but the V-Bar series has a plug-n-play program just for the TDR and I undrstand that it flies perfect. This will be my first flybarless machine so I want it to be pretty simple without a lot of programming.
