Hey guys i just burnt out my stock 75 amp esc this weekend, I need to know if i need to replace the stock motor or am i ok to just replace the esc?

Get the newer Align 100A ESC. That should leave you a bit more room in case the system needs it. If you care about governor, go for the new Castle ICE 100 ESC with a good external BEC. That's a common setup for the Trex-600E crowd nowadays.

I think hes asking if a defective motor can burn out an ESC.

The answer is yes it can... if there is a short on your motor you can lite the ESC up. New or old.

I had a Align 100amp esc go bad in flight a few years ago. I was not up very high at the time and landed only breaking mains and landing gear. Looking at the esc I found the power leads coming out of the esc had melted and seperated from the unit. I went back to my original 75amp and never had any problems. I was only running 6s lipo.

Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.
