Last night I remembered I hadn't checked the status of the iCharger firmwares in a while so I swung over to see if a new one had been released recently. It turned out I was 2 updates behind and they were up to 3.12. So I looked at the revision history to see what was new and I found out some very cool things!

First up they did away with the confirmation screen in LiXX Balance mode. No more "S03 R03" screen! Thank you for that, as I never understood why it was there to begin with.

Next up was something unexpected. They have removed the option to select the number of cells in LiXX Balance mode. Now it just says Auto and when you plug in a pack it immediately reads out what you plugged in. Nice! That I like.

I also wanted to say a few things about how easy it is to update the iChargers and how much I appreciate that coming from other devices. First up they have a regular old mini-B usb connector on the side of the charger (a cable does come with the charger). No proprietary pc connector cable here. So all you do is download the update program (which does not need installed, you just download the single file and run it) and the new update file. Then you power the charger, plug in the cable, run the updater, choose the new firmware and click update. That is it!

Which Icharger are you using? I have a 1010B+ which has been a great charger.
For what you get it is a very powerful (amp wise) charger. I've had mine almost
a year now and have never updated the firmare or hooked it up to a computer.

If you follow this thread on RC Groups
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=839657
there is alot of info on iChargers. The thread has kind of made me never want to
update my firmware since it is working fine. Of course no one really posts that their
iCharger is working great. Most guys post when they have an issue.

I would head over to ProgressiveRC and grab the updater and the firmware you want. Then yo uget the usb cable that came with the charger (or any mini-B cable), hook it to your computer (pcs only I believe), run the updater, power the charger and choose the file with the updater and hit update.

Did my update on my two 106B+'s today. It went really well, but be advised that all mini USB > USB cords are not created the same. I used the one that I've used for my CastleLink for months first, and the computer refused to recognize the device. The included cord worked fine.

It is true that not all cables are created equal but the specs are, so any cable SHOULD work I personally use an extra one I had laying around (I have no idea where it came from as I work in computers for a living, so I have piles of cables). I also use it for my CC Ice.
