Hi,
I was wondering about Autos with the V-bar system .
It tends to be alittle wobbly around the flare period.
Is there any technique to stop this or is it a normal reaction of the heli?

Thanks

Mine does not wobble at all during the auto. Are you doing the flare right before it falls out of the sky? If the HS is too low, it will wobble but that is a looooow HS. Are your main blades tight or do they move when you touch the ground after the auto?

I do not mean the HS is too low my autos are fine with a flybared heli.
I mean the reaction of the heli. The V-Bar system seems to take over the heli and put in quite strange in puts when autos are performed at eye level when it loses the HS and about to land the V-Bar unit seems to put strange inputs into the head or is it just the Gyro trying to do it's job?

With elec stablization you do not loose cyclic response as hs decays like with a fb. So in that respect it is way more sensitive at the bottom and just requires a bit of pilot adjustment to get used to before you no longer think its tippy. Wobbles on the otherhand sound like you have a setup issue at lower headspeeds. Overall autos fbl rock..you can hang them out there so much longer.

With the V-bar, if you give it a little bit of cyclic from the TX, the computer will continue to feed in more and more cyclic until the angle of the heli changes by the prescribed amount. If the blades are going too slow to cause enough angle change, the swash will continue to tilt all the way to the end of it's throw. This can cause the heli to tip over when you try to flare on the end of an auto.

I understand both sides , when I first went to fbl autos felt different, with fly bar I could hold longer autos (slower HS before slow reaction)once I got used to fbl system auto got smooth again .You loose the mechanical ability to correct so you feel not connected.Blade stops are easier too with fbl I can let heli fall with stoped blades longer with fbl then with fly bar the correction is helped by the fbl unit.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

I have a V-Stabi on a Nitro Trex 600 Pro and my observation was similar with the other flying modes; you always have precise, accurate control of the the rotor disk at any rotational speed.

I find myself having a lot more "reserved" power in an auto-rotation from my V-Stabi heli than a "regular" heli.

I use RotorTech 610mm blades with Infinivation dampeners and I think they perform well with the V-Stabi on all flying modes.

I did forget to mention that blades make a big difference also.
