Hi Guys

I am going to be changing the top and bottom case on my Futaba GY401 gyro. There is a small crack on the lower part of the case.
If any of you have changed the case have you had any problems doing so? Any pitfalls or things to be watching for? Any comments would be appreciated.

Cheers

The top is easy, the bottom is RTV'd to the lower circuit board. It will come off pretty easy, just be prepared for it to stick a little.

Thanks for your reply Jeff. What does RTV mean? Is it some kind of silicon adhesive? does it have to be replaced as well. Would any kind of silicon do?

Cheers

RTV is like is a rubber like adhesive. It probably doesn't need to be replaced, it will stick to the circuit b oard and release from the case. So it will stay where it needs to. I would just put it back together. You could use hot glue but I don't think it's necessary for the bottom case to be glued at all.
