There is only one Regan, but no doubt there are many folks who are suitable.

3 years to wait for a good replacement, but thankfully there is another way to restore some sanity - get rid of Pelocy and a few others in the mid terms. Only a few months away.

Is that an indirect slam? Like he had no input on anything he ever said? I don't think so. But you were right on one issue, he sure could deliver what he believed.

I have no doubt that he was a sincere man,but as with all politicians i expect he had a fair bit of help with his wording and speeches. He always came across as a likeable kind of guy to me.

I despise him for giving the Dems the 87 amnesty.( who the FU#$ thought that was a good idea?)
Everything else he did was kind of ruined by that.
He was instrumental in all sorts of great stuff ,but that one point just puts his memory in the toilet for me.
I understand that politics is negotiating
give and take, but come on, that was just stupid and made matters worse
Now Eisenhower was a great president( who says you can't just round them up and send them home)

Don't get me wrong ,lots of good stuff by him ,BUTBut none of this "Immigration Reform and Control Act" was implemented
Or why else did it go from 3 million to 20 million( they say 12) with this time illegals and their sympathizers holding rallies demanding special treatment ?
From wiki
Immigration
Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act in 1986. The act made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit illegal immigrants, required employers to attest to their employees' immigration status, and granted amnesty to approximately 3 million illegal immigrants who entered the United States prior to January 1, 1982, and had lived in the country continuously. Critics argue that its contention subjecting employers to sanctions were without teeth and that it failed to stem illegal immigration.[172] Upon signing the act at a ceremony held beside the newly refurbished Statue of Liberty, Reagan said, "The legalization provisions in this act will go far to improve the lives of a class of individuals who now must hide in the shadows, without access to many of the benefits of a free and open society. Very soon many of these men and women will be able to step into the sunlight and, ultimately, if they choose, they may become Americans."[173]

The closest we've come was last year, but we pissed it away for an "electable" media doll, and caribou barby. This country is too scared to elect a REAL conservative, the follows the Constitution, and if anyone thinks that special interest would let it happen anyway they are naive. Unless we break away from the dead end two party system this country will continue to elect special interest controlled puppets.

caribou barby....good one
I was wanting to see either Romney or Huckabee make a good run. I think Mitt being from Mass hurt him and Huck had no chance because he doesn't play pocket pool with the Republican Party and didn't have the funds to step up to the next level without a lot of help from the national pacs.
I am just sitting here drooling, waiting for the Mass final Tally. Go Brown!!!

If in independent gets in, or considered likely to get in office, he is still a target for special interests.... no way around that, but i do agree that we could use a few more constitutionalist conservatives. Or better yet, constitutionalist independents. I heard a very interesting interview with Rand Paul (Ron Paul's son) seems like a good choice. Similar ideals, but less likely to be considered squirly. He is a new senator(?) for Kentucky if i am not mistaken. A bit of a green horn now, but maybe....
