In this video i am in VFFF and have almost full collective added when i pull up slightly. The heli launches straight up with a ton of speed. At the top i finish by pulling it over the rest of the way. Threw a flip in at the end. A mosquito was biting my neck.

So how do you guys do your loops?

helicopters aren't supposed to loop or flip.

Believe it or not its harder to do a loop in FFF but they are bigger and look much better.(more symmetrical)

The only heli I have successfully looped or flipped Is my R30. Its got what it takes to do a tight flip or loop.

I do them from a stationary position just nose it forward into forward flight speed and yank back full on the elevator. Much like a plane it comes over ever so gracefully with just a little motor bog.

But much like flips Its just a thing you gotta practice to get the right amount of collective for your heli to make it look right.

Great vid though beautiful Texas scenery grass with the occasional scrub brush.

Not very well. Its just not something I've spent any time working on. But I have done them, such as they are.

I usually enter slowly. Then apply alot of collective on the way up. Flatten out the collective at the top, then feed it back in at the bottom. I believe its better to enter with more speed and let the momentum carry you further up. But that requires more planning and commitment.

Thats true. Just jam the Collective/Throttle stick and keep it nosed over for maximum speed. Then gently pull back on the cyclic. She will scream skyward. That is when you go to zero collective. When you decide start easing back on the cyclic to make it look pretty. Do it high. Dont crash. Im trying to upload another video.

Cool video Brad !! felt like a good roller coaster. What camera are you using ?? Real good loops are Alot easier with a plane than a heli, but the Best heli-loop I've ever seen was Melnic's loop 2 or 3 month's ago. Can't find the Vid but it was pretty Damn near perfect. Maybe Melnic will post the Vid.

I would rather go into them slowly and do floops not a flip not a loop.(Cause I am chicken) Like greg said something about commitment?

You go into a loop at mach 1 it will come out of it at mach 2. So you need a good distance between you and terra firma to pull back up out of it.

I crapped myself on one of the first loop with the raptor. I went into it guns blazing and it did huge beautiful loop. Came out of it high enough but lower than I ever wanted to be.

Take the raptor out for a good loop Brad talk about a rush!!!!!!

I enter a loop in much the same way as this, with as much speed as possible - I love seeing it shoot up skywards nose first I pull back just slightly on the cyclic, and leave the stick in that position throughout, and just concentrate on the collective stick. Up until the 8 o' clock position I would be on full throttle, then gradually throttle back to around mid-stick as it goes through the top, then slowly start to throttle back up to be at around full by the time it gets to 4 or 5 o' clock, which is where I push the cyclic stick forward again.
There's 1 or 2 loops in my Blade 400 vid here:
