Hi Pete
there is a EXTENT pot on the RX that lets you tune down the reaction of the servos , and i find this is a great way to tame the CP if you don't fly with a 2801 TX , the easiest way i have found to adjust it to minimum is to turn on the TX and RX and once the heli is up and ready , with the canopy off , slowly turn the EXTENT pot CCW until you see the servos twitch , and then turn it back CW just a touch , i started flying mine set so i had about 4mm total throw on the cyclic servos

add some weight to the flybar or put some + pitch on the paddles.

if you add weight MAKE SURE it is on TIGHT don't want it flying off and hitting you in the eye

Hi
yes . small wheel collars are good , i use 0.062 radio solder also , for a Walkera size model you can cut two pieces of solder exactly at say 1.5 inches long and wrap it tightly around the flybar ( you can make them longer or shorter , but it is important that they match exactly ) , cutting them exactly to length ensures that they weigh the same , nice thing is you don't have to take the paddles off to install them and once you get the hang of it you just unwind the solder and you are back to stock , here is a photo

.

From what I understand the plastic head is better. Lighter, more durable and less slop. I only have had experience with the metal head myself tho, and it does have a little bit if slop but it is pretty stable with it. I have a 4G6 and love that thing. Got rid of the 4G3 (Novus CP). The motor driven tail is a pain in the A$$. 4G6 tail holds solid and is more stable IMO.

If I say duck, I'm not talking about a bird that quacks!

I made a few adjustments and it is getting better but the battery life stinks, I can only get 3 or 4 minutes of flight with the stock batts, I think I will try the 650 mah wowhobbies packs and see how they work

I've used both wood and carbon coated foam blades on my 4G3 and both made it more stable. On the downside the heli will suffer more damage than if you crash it with the stock foamies, and I've long since gone back to using them, but heavier blades do definitely make it more stable and considerably less responsive on the cyclic.

Another thing that apparently works is to trim the ends off the stock blades, never tried and not sure by how much, but if you have an old set with mushed ends it might be worth experimenting

I will try the blade trimming and see how that goes, I think I will go ahead and try a set of wood blades anyway

I have smashed mine off about everything here and at the gym lol the (for me) front gear is the gear that strips out and is a easy replace -- my big bitch is that to get the gears you have to buy the 3 pack -- 1 of every gear hehe.

So after what 2 months The only thing I have really broken or had to replace are:

mainshaft
feathering shaft
blades(still on 1st set of TB) and tt gears -- all totaling like $15 with shipping lol

I just recently had to cut my boom supports a tid bit shorter and move it up a bit as the broke :0( lol

I have the cnc head on still and sometimes the blade grips strip -- again like 9.99 for 2 with bearings and you only need replace the stripped one (1 spare hehe)

heres 2 pics of my weee one lol -- the first is on top of my 600 canopy for size lol

Markus

PS -- not to push you -- like I posted earlier dont throw alot of cake at the cp :0) -- theres a great service (and guy) right in Allentown,PA http://www.clubheli.com

thanks for the info Dizzy, I think I am going to add a 4#6 to the collection since I am a long way from being able to do any 3d flying anyway.
