Just noticed that DS610 servos have a metal shaft (spindle?) that you run a screw into to secure the horn. On my S9252s it was plastic, so I never had to worry, but with these ones it's left me wondering if I should use some Loctite 243 on them?

What's the danger of the the Loctite getting inside the servo and gumming up the works?

+1 !! Loctite is a *requirement* - IIRC Align says so on the setup sheet for their servos. All metal geared servos state loctite as a requirement AFAIK.

Just enough to wet the bottom 2-3 threads of the screw, no more.

On metal geared servos I use shake proof washers and paint the top of the screws to secure them to the output arms .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .
