your LHS is correct. 45 min. sounds about right. depending on the pack and charger you can charge at higher C rates. I'd stick to the 1C unless you're using a higher end newer generation pack.

45 minutes IF the pack is new and you still have 25% to 30% charge left in the battery.

SOME LiPos can be charged at greater than the 1C rate, but not all.

If yours isn't one of those (and there are many in this category), charging at greater than the 1C rate will cause the battery to puff and explode, and the ensuing fire will be hot and difficult to put out.

If you need to fly before the battery is charged, then buy a couple of extra packs.

Just because your charger can charge stuff at up to a 5 amp rate, doesn't mean you should do so.

Lipos are dangerous
You should do some homework on charging and discharging of lipos. They can be dangerous and catch fire or explode if not handled correctly or ruined if discharged incorrectly

Set your charger on 3 cell at 1.8 amps and your good to go. Should charge in under an hour.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Souns like you're not familiar with this battery chemistry type......
As others have suggested, you should do some homework beyond just asking at what rate to charge the battery.....

Also not mentioned is the fact that you SHOUD NOT let the battery voltage go below 3 Volts per cell...... so in your case, the battery you have should not be discharged below 9 Volts othewise you may damage the battery....

And most importantly, DO NOT EVER charge your battery while unnatended !! Unless you have a fire proof container to place the battery inside while charging.... Many have found out the hard way by placing their batteries on charge overnight and then going to bed .....
