Those are called muscle-ups being performed in the video. Very impressive. I don't have a large enough bar to do muscle-ups at home; however, pull-ups are a staple in my own fitness regimen. I'm up to 25 consecutive (to failure) dead-hanging pull-ups. Not bad for a 46 year old .

WTF
Never seen that done, just gave it a try and did .5 of one... haha. I run two miles every third day and do situps and pushups but I can't even dream of how to get to 25 of those "muscle ups."

This hobby does not have to may fit people in it but just to see people out doors these days is impressive, pretty sad huh? I have some heavy set neighbors that pay there HOA fee every month for three really nice parks and great running trails, etc... and all I ever see is the glow of the TV in the window. I just don't get it. I never will...

That is insane. I've never tried them before, but I know that I couldn't manage more than a couple, if any.

Then give them a try using the "cheating" method and see if you can match him .

I just got back from the gym and I gave these a shot. Pardon the expression but I was only able to get about nipple high on the bar. These are a real challenge.

MX400 DUDE, you gotta be mad trying this on earth; much more rewarding when practiced on the moon with belly held in.

That vid was filmed at Bondi Beach. I see fitness junkies there all the time.

As for Jarryd, he has crazy, crazy strength!

Btw yeah our hobby is bad for fitness. I drive past a bunch of mountainbikers everytime I go to my field & think "sod off you bloody lot, you make me feel so unfit."

i would do pullups, but i weigh to much. my noodle arms just couldnt take it.
hell, i order my beers in the small glasses. the large 23 ouncers, i have to use both hands to get the glass to my lips. even then my arms are quivering.
very sad i know. i was even a jarhead in the 80's.

No doubt he has good upper body strength. It's all timing and shifting body weights, I did gymnastics for 2 years in high school and 2 semesters in college, timing and shifting body weights is one of the basic mounting technique they teach you. Same mounting technique used on P bars, rings and H bars gymnasts use. If he can get the timing just right he doesn't need to push at the end. It requires more strength to do regular pull ups than what he's doing at least on the biceps. It's a good exercise thought.

If you're not crashing your not pushing hard enough!
