For as long as I can remember I have always bought from Dell, I would rather die than buy another computer from them. We ordered a computer back in the middle of November for my brother as a birthday gift, his birthday was on Dec 1. So the initial ship date was somewhere around Nov 25.

This is when the fun starts. About every week from around Nov 20 to the beginning of January we've been getting emails that the order was delayed. On top of that, almost every day they send us an email, or call us, asking us if we still would like the order, we had to respond to that email/call within 24hrs or the order would be cancelled. Sometimes we would get 2 of these calls or emails a day.

Now, on Jan 12 Dell bills me and we get an email telling us the order was shipped, with a delivery date of Jan 16. So, the order never came today. I ran the tracking number with FedEx, and they tell me it's an invalid tracking number. They then try to look it up by my address and tell me there is nothing scheduled to be delivered to my house and there is nothing currently in transit.

I call Dell and no one can answer me, each person tells me, "I'll transfer you to a special team that can help you with your problem." After arguing with 6 different people, they then tell me the order must have been lost in the warehouse. What a bunch of bs.

So now they tell me they'll put in a new order that will be shipped within 8 business days, and out of courtesy they'll ship it overnight. I hope every building with a Dell logo on it burns to the ground.

I can get out of it, I'm going to give it another 8 days. That's the computer he wanted, so we'll give it the week.

Over the last 10 years I've purchased at least 12 - 15 Dell computers, maybe more. I went to order a laptop a couple months ago and finance it with Dell. When they told what the interest rate was (as I recall it was over 21%), I told them I would NEVER own another Dell product! I've purchased a couple computers since then (non Dell). Dell simply sucks!

Your fun starts here!

I've had very good luck with Dell and will stay with em.

Always paid with a debit card. No problems.

I was always in the same boat. I will never give them another penny. On top of the people they have answering the phones not having a clue as to where my computer is, you can't understand a world they're saying with their accents. The company is just a joke.

My family had been loyal dell users but my mom was taken for a ride by their service and spent countless hours and hundreds of wasted dollars trying to "fix" a brand new computer. Thats why I am now posting via an HP.

A few years ago , a mate saw a Dell base unit advertised in the news papers that he fancied . So he phoned the number and spent an hour on the phone arguing with some Indian about what he wanted . The Dell rep was just trying to persuade him to buy additional items , printer , monitor , speakers etc . I know it was an hour , because I was there at the time .

After about three weeks , no PC had arrived, so he phoned Dell again and they had no record of his order , but promised to sort it out and get back to him within 48hrs , but they never did .

From talking to other people I know , it seems that in the UK they screw up the order around 50% of the time .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

I bought a Hell computer years ago and still use it today.

It is funny thou I had to finance it from dell at the time and then I started to see a pattern that if my payment was late it got glichy and started to crash after a copple of on time payments it got better now that it has been payed off it never crashes or acts up in any way.

Just something to think on

we use dell laptops at work and customer support is worse than
anything... they explain to you how to take the thing apart over the phone!!

the gal in our office was onthe phone with them for 3 hours!
just to tell her that a tech would be able to send a new hard drive
to us and she could install it and reload windows....WTF!

+ 1 on that.

If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!
