Today was my 3rd curtis youngblood blade set, never flown ANY CY blade for more than 2 flights without craching it....man this sucks, SAB`s keeps me from the ground when I needed it the most, Yesterday, same thing happened, bloged the motor, was inverted... the SAB picked up speed and before hitting the ground, pulled the heli right back up into the air, the CY`s, wasn`t even inverted, just bloged the motor and WHAM... smashed into the ground at a blistering speed!!!!

If you are bogging that bad you either need to tune your motor, adjust your throttle curve, or stay farther from the ground until you learn better collective management.

I find the Cy Radix blades to be fantasic. They are light and don't generally bog the head much at all.

120 is hot hot hot.
I run 100 or 110 on all my stuff.
What motor are you running, what fuel and what full lean position on carb?

My thinking is you may not have ability to lean motor enough based on where your full lean position is set, and going to 120c is not really heating the motor that much.

Run less overall pitch.
If you feel that your motor is tuned right then as you said it boggs when you do a straight up climbout the best thing to do is lower your top and bottom pitch ammounts to maybe + and -10 degrees or 9 degrees.

The motor will only pull what it will pull ased on numerous factors fuel elevation blades etc. so the only thing that can be changed is the pitch because your happy with your setup of plug and muffler and fuel. It won't be the same for different blades so it is what it is when you get set so it don't bog but just stays the same sound and just keeps on climbing when you open the throttle collective all the way open.

Now the people who run 12 and 12 or 13 and 13 or 14 and 14 aren't using all that pitch only momentarily and back off on the throttle collective stick so the motor recovers and isn't bogging or overloading. If your a newer flier just play with the pitch and get the motor happy you can add some in later as skills improve.

This thread got too rough for you?

No set of blades is going to "keep you from the ground." However, there is some great advice here.

I agree with reducing the pitch. Also, if you can get 30% then that will help alot.

30% nitro would allow you to pull 11' with minimal bogging.
