Hi, no it won't bind to the 4 channel TX.

Are you plugging in the lipo quickly enough? After switching on the TX you get a maximum of around 10 secs to plug in the lipo.

There are only 2 TXs it will bind to. Either the stock 6 channel Helimax 2.4GHz TX which is the same as the Walkera 2601, or else the Walkera 2801

I wounder why someone hasn't come up with a way to make the 2.4ghz's compatible by now? maybe it's just not possible?? I know Spektrum is only compatible with Spektrum and JR right??

All the manufacturers seem to have their own technology for using 2.4GHz and I doubt they will ever be compatible.

JR, Spektrum and E-flite all come under Horizon Hobby so all use the same technology - which causes some confusion amongst new pilots who learn that E-flite micro helis will bind to their Spektrum TX and wonder why other micro helis won't.

Binding is not too bad, but you have to be quick, if I try to bind using the instrutions that came with the Novus CP, it does NOT work.

You need to do this quickly.

turn on the TX, and quickly connect the battery to the helicopter, it should bind.

it took me a few trys to get it to work.

When you turn on the TX first the power leds should be flashing, to show you it is waiting to bind.

-= I know there is Money in RC helicopters. I put it there=-

having to do it quickly might be a fail-safe method so if you're at the field with other Helis or planes you don't unintentionally bind to someone els's or vicversa...

CP binding
I may be wrong, but I think the manual says to plug in battery FIRST, then turn on TX. This is how mine binds EACH time. I don't like this method either.

I don't have the Helimax manual, but I would doubt very much that it tells you to plug in the lipo first, although it will bind perfectly well that way. The correct binding procedure is as I described above. You just have to be very quick to plug in the lipo, as soon as you've switched the TX on.

with spektrum you definitely plug in the lipo first (per manual) then you push/hold your bind button on the controller and then turn the controller on, not sure about the walkera/heli-max, can't remember but very possible that binding is done the same way as spektrum, lipo first then radio...

There's no bind plug/switch or button on Walkera radios or receivers. Binding occurs every time you switch on the TX and plug in a lipo.

this is NOT Spektrum. Try plugging in the battery first, then turn on radio. Suggest that you download a copy of the manual.
