I recently have started doing roller derby. I just wanted to share with everyone that I passed the test to be able to actually play in the bouts.
I will explained so this so it is a little clearer. I have been able to practice with the team but a written and skills test must be taken to be able to scrimmage or play in a bout. I had to demonstrate 55 different skating skills as well pass the written ~50 question exam. I can now skate around things, properly fall and do two foot jumps. So may not see this as very difficult but I had not been on skates in years and have worked my but off for the past two months. I stated with a group of about 30 people and only about 12 have stuck with it. Of the 12 only 6 have passed. Anywho I am just so excited I wanted to share with others.

Also, Derby these days is not as dangerous as it used to be but trust me it is still just as rowdy!

I use to watch roller derby in the 70's, it's got to be a tough sport. It was absolutely brutal what they did to each other. Fun to watch though.

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?
