I'm ready to buy a YS 56 for my Vibe. I'm flying mild aerobatics with 620mm SABs and using Optifuel 20%. What would you recommend between the Outrage 56 and the Hatori 561 pipes?

You´re comparing a 3D pipe with a F3C pipe. The 566 is the 3D pipe.

I have a SAB55 which is the same as 566 and it delivers good power with the YS56SR. Haven´t tried the Outrage pipe but at that price is quite appealing.

Hi Pulento,
I wasn't aware that the Outrage was specifically for 3D. My mistake. The 561 looks like a better idea. One UK retailer has the 566 for £80 and another has the SAB-55 for £125. Are you sure they're the same?

Hatori USA says that they are different. They are made to the US market.

But every single Hatori pipe I got from US retailers had the usual Hatori number etched on the box:

- My SAB18 has 939
- My SAB19FH has 946
- My SAB55 has 566
- My SAB50 had 522

So I´m really starting to believe they are the same. Even I had a 522 which I got from Taiwan and it looked the same as my SAB50. A friend of mine has a 946 and it looks and perform identical to my SAB19FH.

Not to hijack this thread but a TT Redline black pipe is a very good choice also just in case you have one laying around for the YS56SR .

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. Has anyone experienced any reliability issues with the Outrage 56 pipe? I had one of the lugs on a Hatori #521 strip on me, I understand it's not uncommon. I can get the Outrage for £60 or the Hatori for £80, I'm wondering if there's any point paying extra.

I have the outrage56 on the YS 56 motor and love it to death.
I did however put nuts on the end of the bolts as an extra safety.

Great performance from a low price muffler IMO.

I put a Hatori 566 on my new 56SR. Not fully run in yet but it already looks VERY powerful.

The Hatori 566 in Japan (I live here) costs around US$80 at the moment. In the US I believe it costs way more - almost double.

As far as I can tell, the only difference is the price. Fuel etc used here and the US is almost identical. Don't care what the marketing people claim, they are ripping you off.
