Gents, the time has come. My father and I have been working on one of Dr. Tim's Apache's for quite sometime now. I origanally started the project in August 08 and now I'm currently in Iraq and my father is finishing up the project. He is about to start on the rivets and then do the final paint. Our question is where do we get or how do we do all the fine lettering? Like the triangle with "Danger Explosive Device Conopy Jettison" or the serial number and so forth?Being here in Iraq I have had the chance to get some great pictures of the Apache's fine details and we would like to put this on our helicopter.

Thanks for the help,
Neal

Neal - Try http://www.Callie-Graphics.com Great vinyl and waterslide graphics. Reasonable prices and fast turnaround. She can do her magic from a photo if you give her the sizing dimensions.

Whats up Neil? I'm guessing by your post that your Dad is hard at work on the Apache. There are several places to get paint masks done for all the nomenclature for the Apache. Or dry transfers which would be easier but more costly. Let me know if you or your Dad need them. Looking forward to your return. We experienced a helicopter explosion over here since you were deployed.

Mike,
Great to hear from you! Ya the Pops is hard at work, I can't wait to bring it out and show you guys. When I saw it in November it was looking great. He is about to do the final primer job on it and then do the rivets. He is hoping to have it all done by the time I get back roughly early May.

Okay what is this Dry rub stuff you are talking about? I think this is the route we want to take, I do think we want to do the traditional decal with water and all that as the heli will be painted in a flat color without a clear coat.

Talk to you soon,
Neal

Here's one place that does custom work. There kind of pricey but very nice.

Things are great here the weathers fantastic. I converted my 450 over to a defender and did a pre-order on a Apache fuse for my 500 size.
Another route on the marking would be a paint mask. Might try theses guys.

I'll check around for some more info for you. If you need anything please let me know.

Take care.

Mike,

Sounds good. I have got a Trex 250 that I buzz around here and there is also another guy that I'm working with that is big into RC. He bought a 450 a month ago and we got that up and flying so as far as RC go's I'm doing great.

Thanks for the help,

Neal
