Does anyone know if the data transfer via a buddy cord still works between 9303 and 9503?

I hope it would.

I doubt it. In the past, data transfer from radio to radio had to be between identical radio models.......I can't see how that might have changed.

You can call Horizon's toll free number direct to get a definitive answer......

Thanks, and that is nice!

I have called Horizon Hobby and they have confirmed that it supports the data transfer between 9303 and 9503.

Cool !!
That's the way ALL of the JR radios should have been designed..... I've owned the PCM 10, 10S, 10SX and now the 10X and that functionality is not available amongst any of them...... what a shame....

That's because they upgrade to a different type of CPU on each major release.

This has an effect on the RAM maps used and is just not possible to have then talk to each other easily.

But when designing a feature to allow you to transfer settings between radios, it's a no brainer if you use a standard format for the actual data to let the transfer function in the receiving transmitter do the re-mapping automatically.

Moving data from one processor to another is easily accomplished, regardless of the various processor architectures involved. After all, this is nothing more than a serial interface between two computers.

It would be easy to attach the transmitter source type information (8103, DX7, X9303, 12X, etc.) to the outgoing serial stream and let the receiving processor receive, parse, interpret and package the data for its own use. All it takes is some planning and engineering. Moving data between computers of different types is done every day with no problems.

Would this also work with a 9303 PCM to a 9503? I think it will but had to ask.
