I know there are loads of other posts regarding the stretching of the trex 600, but there was some info missing, hopefully someone can help me out!
I stretched my 600 yesterday looks fantastic! I am running the vr360 mount and a canon t1i with the 10-22 (heavy) lens. Usual stuff otherwise 900mhz downlink, 4 cell nimh to power the mount, 3s1p 800mah for the downlink. Never found out what the AUW is so thats why im telling you what gear is on it.
I flew the heli twice so far, stable as heck but curious about the power. I guess alot of the posts for stretching were by "nooobs" and all his posts were deleted!?! I currently have the stock motor and ESC and my 2 flights were with 1 6s1p 5000mah I was able to get 4min45sec hovering. I just want to make sure I am not over taxing the battery, motor or ESC. I am running the stock 14t pinion, swinging Radix 690's.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

Yes you are very much over taxing the drive train. When you stretch to the 700mm you need to switch to a motor/esc/battery combo that runs on 10 or 12s. 6s simply will not cut it for very long at that weight.

I dont know what I was missing, but every thread I checked just said "easy conversion, just change boom and blades!" Who knows I guess my answer was probably in the posts that have been deleted, I just assumed the extra power usualy used for 3d I could use for swinging those blades. The stock align motor is 1220kv and I am running approx 1700rpm headspeed. What are you folks with stretched 600's running?
Thanks for the help!

The actual conversion is easy. For helicopter modifications you do just as you said. But you do need to adjust the power system to handle not only the longer blades, but also the added weight that you are now carrying with camera gear.

You need to move to a 10s or 12s battery setup. I have Ran Actro's and Tango motors.

Search some of my older posts. I was one of if not the first person to stretch the 600 way back when it first came out. I then did it again last year with the release of the 700n.

Thanks Derek!
I was flying all that equipment with the heli stock with no problems. i decided to stretch it for the added stability and smoothness. I knew something wasnt right when I was testing it with the stock motor, it just seemed like it was in 4th gear going uphill at 15 mph if you catch my drift. I have several 6s1p 5000mah packs and 2 flightpower 5s1p 3700 mah packs that i normally use with my hyperion yak 54, so I was hoping on a setup where I might be able to use 10s or 12s. Thanks again for your help!

Im most the way there minus the motor and esc. Could you run 10s or 12s on that setup or just 12s, and lastly what pinion were you using?
