Just wanted to share my friends crash experience with you today. He crashed his Trex 600 really bad. Pretty much going to need a new kit for this one. My friend always checks everything on his heli and then rechecks it. We were out flying and he decided that he wanted a little more cyclic rate. We checked it and saw that he could increase the movements a little. He went and did that. I didn't pay any attention to it after that. He took off some time later and got into a hover and the heli banked left a little. He went to correct it with some right and the heli went more left. Ended up crahing very hard into the runway. Turns out that when he was adjusting the cyclic rates on the radio he accidently press the clear button while on the CCPM screen and had aileron selected. On the DX7, when you press the clear button it turns the minus sign(-) to a plus sign (+) and keeps the value the same. He unknowningly reversed his left and right cyclic. The one time he doesn't do this regular extensive preflight, he actually need it. One slip of the finger and not checking things like you always do and one massive crash. here are some pics.

If that is the case, give me the one he crashed. It could be back in the air in a day or so.

I torn them up far worse than that and never required a kit. That would seem like the expensive way to go, but just my opinion.

Things can happen on any radio if you push the wrong button
I made a dumb thumb on my 9303 as well and wiped out one of my models by accident but I knew it as soon as I did it so no harm done except starting over building the config. Once I get it back to where I want it I am going to back it up this time. Famous last words.

If you have to bend over more than once to pickup your Heli it was a bad landing

I set-up my first Rapter 50 with the elevator servo reversed and didn't notice on my pre-flight. It didn't even get off the ground before I had a boom strike, Now I check for the right direction before each flight!

Ouch, did the same thing with a Trex 500 a while ago. I ALWAYS check left and right front and back on the cyclic before taking off now.

I've had several big crashes trying to set up my FBL helis and putting the wrong value into the TX. I can sympathize with your loss. Hope you get it back in the air soon.

Also, doesn't look to me like you need a new kit. Just the usual parts. Boom, blades, spindle shaft, main gear, etc.

Thanks guys, this was my friends heli.

There was a lot broken that you can't see in the picture. Each side frame is broken in 6 different places, fuel tank has a hole in it, Botton plate broken, struts, fins, receiver, battery, control arms, both main gears, tail boom, torque tube, all the shafts. Also the force of the crash shut off the radio and the engine was screaming so i think there is damage to the clutch.

He is getting a new kit and using this one for what spares it had left on it. The only good part is the full metal head didn't have a scratch on it.

On the DX7, when you press the clear button it turns the minus sign(-) to a plus sign (+)

I did not crash, but i got burned by erasing a model twice, then I put the brightest orange fingernail polish on that button so I would not do it again.

Nice one. They should make the clear button a "Guarded Button"

Bean there done that EXACT SAME CRASH. On my T-rex 600 I was upping the alieron/elevator rate in the swash menu and accidentally bumped the clear button. My Cyclic went from -60 to +60 without me noticing. Tired to lift off with reversed alierons and luckily didn't get 3 inches off the ground before I dumped it..

Damn... Sorry to hear about yours. Bummer!!

Been there done that myself. Now I always do a control check at low speed on the ground before I lift off. Always.
