Do you mean (gloves)? I also use them for hot pans on the stove. They also make great chew toys for the dogs.

No, I was referring to those exothermic warmers and using them for alternative applications. ie, keeping receiver batterys warm in seriously cold weather; keeping one in your field tools. etc
Any other bright ideas ?

I too am desperately not trying to make some comments..

Seriously though, go to your local camping shop and buy the very small cool-boxes. Some of these also have heating and cooling parts that run off your cigarette lighter socket. Someone at our field has one - there very good.

You guys seemed to have missed the point of the original question.
To rephrase.....
What are some alternative uses of the exothermic hand warmers ?
(These are the warmers that you boil to restore them)

I use 'em to keep me goilfriend's chonklers toasty while camping on glaciers.

Her chonklers in turn keep the LiPo packs warm enough to fly RC off the ice, and provide some invigorating, inspirational ways to avoid digital numbness.

To get back to the point, I use a pair of small hand warmers in my transmitt, This seems to keep the tx happy and warm which in turn keeps my hands warm.

I am just exploring electric flight seriously and I reck on in cold weather I will throw a couple of the larger ones in the lipo sack to keep the packs warmer before I use them.

I haven't done any tests but I shouldn't think the british climate is cold enough to warrant one near a receiver, but maybe someone might know what temp a modern receiver starts to give up.

Good luck

If you need hand warmers, its too cold to fly.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!
