Tom, that's my point. Yeah we all know that the whole Fed thing is a problem...we get that. But, we're just saying, lets concentrate on some of the things we can fix....right now!!!! What Obama is doing is NOT helping matters and I'm sure you'll admit that. Let's fix some of our big problems, then we can focus on changing the very foundation of the way we've done business for 90+ years around. But first things first.
Let's just start bailing some water instead of having a debate on whether we should use a 5 gallon bucket or a 7 liter bucket......

Fla Heli Boy, Now thats a better way to get your point across! I personallly am a little argumentative, thats just me. I just think that no one party or political view is infallable. I have ever met anyone ever that is 100% correct about everything all of the time. So Conservative vs. Liberal isn't my cup of tea. I give all partys and factions of political thinking a chance and form my opinion from there, be it right or wrong.

As for Obama making the banks paying the money back is absolutly the right thing to do. What should we do just let them slide? Obama came into office with the country in financial meltdown so all isn't going that great, and I'll admit it. I just think that we need to give things a little time to see if it works, not just disagree fundamentally, and imediatly start ranting.

Lets see what happens, everything always works out in the long run.

I made a mistake once, but I was wrong?

I think that since we are talking about banks here we should make tham pay all of the money back, plus interest, penalities, and overdraft charges!
Maybe even a couple of ATM fees to boot!

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

Oh, the irony in Tommy's post...
My butt buddy, huh? I doubt if you were in front of me you would be referring to me as anyones butt buddy. Maybe we will meet one day and we can have a face to face discussion. You could have hurt my feelings if I had any left. Internet tough guy.

I can agree with that completely.

First place, this is a discussion about the banks paying back the money they owe to the US government. ITS ALL OPINION. Some people have tact, and you don't. I guess you meet perfect strangers, and tell them they are so far from reality its scary. I doubt it. You are just another Douche Bag that doesn't have any balls in real life, but huge balls in this forum. I don't know you, but many like you.
You posted your erroneous opinion here for all to read. All
I did was point out that you don't know what your talking about. That's not an insult. It's the truth. You have called me names and made a bunch of assumptions that you can't back up. But, that's what political hacks do, especially die hard liberal Democrat hacks.

In any event, I don't have any names for my senator Scott Brown. The other senator isn't worth my while. Hopefully he gets booted too!

Yeah SSN, I have no idea what it means (or the definition) and I really can't pronounce it, but I thought it looked cool. I'd throw some Latin in here, but all I know is 'Ig-pay Atin-lay'.

Anyway, I do get entertained when I see folks who disagree with other folks resort to, "Oh YEAH?!? Well I think you're a big fat %$!#$@$!, you ^$@#!!!"

Perhaps when their arguement runs to its logical conclusion, that's all that left??

what Tom ain't seein' is that most banks have already paid their money back in full. That's why the bonuses are flying and people are getting ticked again (rightfully so). But....it's still a private enterprise and the government, now that they've been paid back, should either stay out of it, or pass some regulation. They don't want to regulate it though, they want to TAX it. Big difference.
Now, the ones that have NOT paid back, well Big Brother is still in charge, hovering over them. We'll be right back into the same soup eventually unless we restrict lending to underqualified buyers.
JP Morgan bonuses spread out would average $280K per employee. Hmmm, bet the secretaries and tellers get a ham for a bonus. It is pretty disgusting really.

All business is self serving, but nowadays the people in charge of things make insane profits, and put hardley any money back in, pay huge bonuses out and later our tax dollars bail them out.
Insane profits???? Run a business and tell me you don't deserve every penny. The money is a trade off for burning a hole in your stomach.

Actually, I do. But, there is no point in debating a partisan hack like you, who thinks he knows everything. Sorry Tommy, you've got tunnel vision and refuse to open your mind to other possibilities. So, there's really no use in even trying to get you to understand what's really happening and why.

How does anyone on here really know what is going on with the banks and the goverment. Does any one here actually work for the goverment or the banking industry and have inside information. Or is everything that is being said on here is strictly from information that has been heard on the news or found on the internet. I personally believe we will never know the truth about what is going on and everything that has been posted in the news or on the internet is purely assumptions.

I am not a conspiracy theriost, but I have no trust in the media since it has been proven wrong many times in histroy and proven that the truth has not been published.

Don't forget how it was a weather ballon we were told that came down in New Mexico then 30 or so years later we were told is was parachute testing. And yes I do believe in aliens.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Good one SSN Pru, but lacking in testicular density A good spin though!

Al, I'm not speaking of all business, just some large ones. Don't take offence because your in business or run one. Now if your stomach feels like its on fire, I would do something else, life is short.

actually....
the "tax" (or whatever Maobama is calling it), is a very small amount of money in terms of overall operating costs to the banks. If they passed it on and divided it up between all of their customers, I think I read somewhere that the average person might see a little less than a buck a month in service fee increases (and that's if they passed on EVERY single penny to the customer). However, that's not the point. The gubbment is throwing a fee on the banks, when the banks receive nothing in return for that fee. I'd liken it to taxation without representation.
Once they get that fee, they're bound to increase it year by year. Since when has anything the Feds enacted ever been reduced or eliminated??? Never....

And they will pass it on to us, the customers. So it is just another tax on all of us and doesn't do a damn thing to the bankers!

true and we'll probably never really feel it, but that's not the point. That's what they do, they nickle and dime us every day. It's the principle of it and I hope we are waking up to that. What will they do with that money??? Pay down the debt??? Give it to Haiti??? Do a study on whether colored condoms are more sturdy than regular colored condoms??? Do blondes REALLY have more fun???
Anybody remember the Snail Darter from the 70's holding up the power damns??? Who TF knows where this money goes.
