Hey everyone,
I was wondering any one has installed a DJI 3.1 and did not like it. I have been doing a lot of research on the site and I have not found any complaints. I am looking to buy this set up in the next month so I will be ready for spring. I have also have not seen any in the classified section, so to me that looks like a good thing.PM's are more then welcome.
Thanks,

Jason McKay

1lb. is the weight for everything.

Everyone of my customers are 100% satisfied. That's my #1 goal (treat them like I would like to be treated if I spent $3899 on something). Plus, I won't sell something unless I believe in it, I don't have to.

I got mine from Robert. It is great, flew today for the first time in weeks (no AP work ) Both Robert and the DJI system met my expectations very well. I've had the system since 03-2009.

Darin, good to hear. What chopper are you using it on?

Anyone using it on a gasser?

We initially had it on a mongoose gasser and we didn't have any issues. The big trick is mounting and not having vibrations. We just put it on an electric model because a customer only wants an electric helicopter used.

I got mine from Robert about 5 months ago and would NEVER go back to FMA or Helicommand. You can use the DJI in "attitude" mode which is the way the basic Helicommand works, I use that mode about 10% of the time. 90% of the time I use "autopilot" mode which holds the heli in a small box in the sky, it's awsome. I am a volunteer firefighter and used it about 3 weeks ago in 10 degree F temp at night and it was awsome the video I got trying to find hotspots in a small downtown that wiped out 5 buildings. Wish I could have transferred some of those hotspots to my cold, cold fingers. In a hurry, I fogot the tx cage at home that night.
I doubt you will have any problems, but if you have any questions, Robert has all the answers.

DJI are a great company to work with and have very good customer support. DJI is also a very aggressive with their product development. Their products are continuously being improved and their latest way point version will be ready very soon.
They are very price competitive and their products are top quality so rest assured there is no compromise on quality to keep their costs down.

We will be testing the way point version very soon on both a gasser and electric machine.

Jaymac26 - We are currently using the XP3.1 standard on a gasser and works very well with no issues since I first started using it which was in Feb 08.

Does anyone have a picture of a system mounted on a gasser? Which components have to be mounted level?

Thanks

Brad,

Main controller and the Compass/Antenna as close to level as possible.

Jason,

From my understanding it will be upgradeable from the standard.

Weight
I asked the weight question in the closed 'review' thread and eventually got the following answer:
DB15 cable = 50g
LED w/cable(new version) = 46g
Main controller/vibration box/isolators/SD card = 338g
GPS/compass antenna w/cable = 82g
Adapter w/all connectors and deans = 149g
2s 2100mah lipo with deans = 94g
Total = 1.67lb (756g).

Has the hardware changed to make it lighter since then ?.

Also, how long will a 2100mah lipo last ?.

Thanks,

Barry.

I apologize for not including the LED and cable. My numbers came right from the manual. I will weigh and check each component and verify.

Using a 2s 2000mah battery according to page 9 of the manual it will last approx. 2 hrs.
