have a 600 E, that has a tail jerk right after take off, for a while, then it stops! but is very concerning! as it really jerks violelnty and about 40 degrees or so! have a castle creations 85 HV ESC and the Align BEC a futaba tail servo!

changed spots on the transmitter, and it stoped for a while, then came back with a vengence! DX-7 transmitter.

it jerks to the left, nose to the right! shaft drive, gyro firm, at back and ESC in front, long ways apart, everything seems firm, not loose!

seems to quit after a few minutes, or about a minute or so, and then is normal! like a servo is warming up, or gyro is warming up! is very scary at first!

Does it kick to the right or to the left?

Do you have the ESC close to the gyro? If so, try to move the ESC forward a little. Also, what kind of tape do you use for the gyro, is it to flex? If so, try to either use a different tape that is less flex or strap around the gyro with velcro and try again.

Other people will chime in, but as always, change one thing at a time while troubleshooting.

Good luck.

driven pulley
Check the belt drive gears.

I had one of the originals and when the plastic gears wore down, it did a lot of crazy things.

Fortunately they have metal ones now!!

Do you have governor enabled on ESC? I know some people have had a similar problem when their governor was not setup properly.

I had the same problem with mine...fixed it today. It was a combination of play it the tail slider control horn and (mainly) a sticky tail blade grip. I upgraded to a metal slider control horn and some metal tailblade grips. What I found during the upgrade was excesive play in the control horn (fixed by the metal upgrade)and more to the point was a sticky blade grip which I think was the main problem. 3 flights post upgrade and the tail is as soild as a rock.I hope this helps....I love my 600 again.

Sounded like a simple gain issue! Your headspeed will be higher at the start of the flight and if your gain is too high it could cause a wag until your headspeed drops off during the flight.

60% of the time, it works every time!
