Was suffering with a vertical oscilation on the tailboom that
appeared to be started of by different loadings on the tail, I think it's belt related although the tension seems OK.
Anyhow, I have replaced the boom supports with 700 carbon struts which are longer. These I mounted further back at the rear and drilled new holes to bolt through right at the bottom of the side frames. This has increased the triangulation and transformed the tail, it's as rigid and smooth as you'd like now! Loving this heli ;-)

Any chance you can post a pic of this, I'd like to see it before I try it? I'm having a similar issue and this seems to be a simple fix, I've tried everything and cannot eliminate the problem completely, I was just about to pop the tail hub off and put it on the balancer with a new set of C/F blades to see if I could smooth the boom end vibes a bit more...

Will take pics and post later. Think I'm also going to fit the new style Align 600 undercarriage. The tail fin's too low (read on the deck) with the std unit...

I just jacked the rear up slightly with 1/8 spacers, gives much better fin clearance.

The boom supports really have made the heli better.

Just waiting for the Zimmerman to finish her off. (don't want to hack canopy to suit std muffler)

Thanks for posting this, I had the same result doing the mod. Last night I swapped the tail blades for a good set of new C/F and installed the longer T 700 boom supports. Just did a test hover out back and the tail is rock solid now, just a tiny bit of vibes at the bottom of the vertical fin, but otherwise no visible vibrations, a dramatic change from yesterday at the field
