What a horrible situation.

But I couldn't help but notice all of the people just mulling around. Shouldn't they be searching for and helping victims or are they waiting for the rest of the world to do it for them?

I think they are all in shock.Kind of like 9/11.
...and with all the aftershocks people are likely hesitant to go climbing through the rubble.

Unfortunate to be sure.

Did you see the cost estimate of damages yet?
$893.27

Seriously thought- You have to feel a bit when people are subjected to such suffering when it is no fault of theirs.
Best wishes to those in Haiti.

Sorry about the no fault pun.............

I was there for 6 months when I was in the military (Operation Uphold Democracy) and is the worse place I ever went. Its a real sad situation, even before this happened. The level of poverty is hard to comprehend, and what you say that they just mulling around, that's how they are, they have grown in that situation and for them is just how life it is; they don't know any better. They are just numb! Its a real sad place. When I was there I was told that Haiti was like the "Las Vegas" of the Caribbean before the dictatorship took over back in the day and ran the island economy to the ground.

I dont suffer from mental iIlness, I actually enjoy mine!

Hello

My prayers go out to the people affected by the earth quake in Haiti. Personally, I don't see anything funny about the situation.

Thanks

What a damned shame.A bunch of ruthless menices to society down there crying about noone helping them, very typical.Personally a good tsunami to aid in cleanup efforts would work for me.

It's a terrible shame!
I do have to wonder why Obama hasn't swooped in to save them in like a day or two just like the Dems expected Bush to be able to do for the Katrina victums?

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

Anger at US builds at Port-au-Prince airport
AFP - Anger built Saturday at Haiti's US-controlled main airport, where aid flights were still being turned away and poor coordination continued to hamper the relief effort four days on.

"Let's take over the runway," shouted one voice. "We need to send a message to (US President Barack) Obama," cried another.

Control remained in the hands of US forces, who face criticism for the continued disarray at the overwhelmed airfield.

The disorder even appeared to cause diplomatic ripples, with French Secretary of State for Cooperation Alain Joyandet telling reporters he had lodged a complaint with the United States over its handling of the Port-au-Prince airport.

Good... hand the airport over to France.. and Sweden... and Germany and the rest of those crying losers that wait for the US to do the dirty work every time something in this world goes horrifically wrong.

Absolutely sickening.

Clearly you only read and presented 1/2 of the article : Cry me a river. Dilbert
Typical : He we have a situation with hundred's of walking tramatic injuries.
Adults and children with arm's and leg's sheared off. The Living and dying trapped under concrete / talking to passer by's asking for help.

People are whining because they just have to sit for 24hr's while the Calvery roll's in with heavey equipment / medical and manpower on a small county strip of a run way.

Suggest you read and quote the whole article and all the retractions within it.

Bottom line / it could get worse if the plaque get's a hold.

I saw no retractions in the article. There was a denial by an unnamed source:
A spokesman for the French foreign ministry later denied France had registered protest, saying "Franco-US coordination in emergency aid for Haiti is being handled in the best way possible given the serious difficulties."
The protest was issued by: the French Secretary of State for Cooperation Alain Joyandet:
"I have made an official protest to the Americans through the US embassy," he said at the Haitian airport after a French plane carrying a field hospital was turned away.
The US Ambassador Kenneth Merten defended the efforts of the US.

The title: "Anger at US builds at Port-au-Prince airport" was a straight cut and paste.

Ive said it before and I will say it again. The hell with them people down in haiti. let the rest of the world do something for once. We step in and help and all we get is bs from the people there that are to lazy to help themselves and the rest of the world saying we are bad we are not doing enough yet at the same time figuring ways to tear us down so the hell with them let them figure it out and help themselves. We should just back out of it and forget them. They wouldnt come to our aid if this country needed it and you all know it.

With most of the world glad the U.S. economy is in the tank, they will be on their own when disaster strikes. There will be no way to help anyone. i am tired or other contries talking $hit about America. we have already sent 48 million in food supplies. and the American public has donated 10 million and still counting.and we do this nonstop for everything that happens in the world. it will soon be time to let the rest of the world clean up their own back yard.

nope not soon the time is now!! We just cant keep giving all the time and then let the other countries just insult us and slap us for what we do to help. It is time to stop helping let them fix thier own mess's.

If ithappened here, we would want help too. We should all be donating our spare change to the rescue and recovery efforts. I don't think we should give them a shiny new country. But, we absolutely should be helping with what we can.

Fact of life. We do what we can. We have many people in this country dieing everyday because they basically commit social suicide.

Thousands of people die everyday on this planet. We can only help so much. Since they are so close (Haiti), we should be there first.
