Found a great way to practice my orientation. Let my 4 year old run the throttle and rudder stick, and see how long I can keep the sim in the air. You never know what direction its gonna be facing, works wonders.

Fantastic idea!

I'll have to try that with my 6 year old grandson.

my daughter goes nuts on the rudder, and I leave the idle up on so I can turn it upside down when she smacks the stick all the way down, still only get 45 sec or a minute. But oddly enough muscle memory takes over sometimes, and I think it is great practice. Plus my daughter loves it, and that is always good.

Me on the right stick and my son on the left stick is how I first started teaching him to fly the coax. It helped him control the altitude and using the tail better.

I just love the fact that she wants to fly with dad, hopefully she will still want to when shes 10,12 and so on. I gave her my airhog coax and she killed it. It still will lift off but no control, she broke the flybar off the bottom rotor. I don't know how but she did, she still loves it. Now when she starts out doing me with the 4g3 I would fix it for her if I could get parts.

15 year old kids tried the Sim and they were flying inverted, nose in like nothing..
They never seen heli flying videos, they only seen my crappy flying. once they figure out they can fly inverted, they were like, it'll be cool it rc helicopters can fly like this real life.

They just figured out as they go. They play a lots of video games too.
