Just put the stickers on my heli this week and not so happy about the looks. Was debating on painting the canopy a bright color instead, nothing fancy. How hard of a process is it to spray on one color? Do I have to sand down all the finish and start from scratch. Any recommendations?

Flying? More like controlled falling.

You don't have to go down to the bare fiberglass.

3M Scotchbrite to remove the gloss on the gelcoat and a bit of
'heavier' sanding/filling if you also want to change the position
of the 'black' window (because of the seam).

Then use painting recommandations such as the one on
this site for example and you should get very good results:
