This should get the thread 'Buzzing' I closed my thread with the following post

I am still unable to locate the required part for my N57 and despite promise after promise from Luca to resolve my problem, nothing has happened to rectify the situation.

Luca insisted that Novarossi were committed to customer service and 6 weeks ago he offered a solution which I accepted. However, nothing materialised and I have chased him on 4 separate occasions only to receive apologies and empty promises.

Do I think Novarossi offer good service? - NO

Do I think they care about their customers? - NO

Would I touch a Novarossi again? - Not with a 10 foot stick

Now I fully understand why the following poll is as it is:

Which engine do you prefer for your 50 Nitro heli?

OS 50 : 23.61% (178)
OS 55 : 32.76% (247)
YS 50 : 4.77% (36)
YS 56 : 9.55% (72)
Novarossi 57 : 12.47% (94)
Redline 53 : 9.28% (70)
Align 50 : 2.65% (20)
Align 55 : 4.91% (37)

I'm back with OS and loving it

Luca, I'm really disappointed with Novarossi and Lynx. If you treat all your customers this way you won't have many for long

I then received a PM from Luca (Inninverno) asking if I was serious and threatening to have me removed from RR He also stated that my parts are 'in the post'. If they ever arrive I'll eat humble pie.

I'm sure there will be a response to this post

3D?? No - just another input error!!!

Wimbledon99, what part are you waiting on? Is it the throttle arm nut that can't be replaced with a part found in a hardware store?

In defense of Luca, I met him at the Orlando Heli Blowout. He was very helpful to me in resolving an issue with overspeeding when unloading the engine (the low/mid needle was too lean). I'm sure Luca is trying his best to get you whatever you need for your engine.

However, months going by without repair parts is a serious problem in my opinion. I am very curious as to what the hold-up is. The answer to this may determine whether I purchase another NR engine in the future.

Further to above (almost 2 months after being told my issue would be resolved) and after all the promises from Luca to resolve my issue which includes a mail from Luca stating the parts were shipped to me a few days ago, I received the following mail this evening. Apparently, the gent offering to resolve the issue only learned of the problem yesterday

It really says it all about the support in the UK and adds weight to my opinion of poor customer service

It also proves that I was lied to by Luca

This has made me even more upset than I already was and I find it VERY VERY POOR SHOW

I feel customers in UK and Europe should be aware hence this post.

My name is Zachary Hollis from Lynx Heli Innovations. I want to handle the matter of the parts which you are in need of. I first heard of your problem yesterday so allow me to make sure this is taken care of timely.

I would like you to confirm your mailing address if you could. Also, take a look at the invoice to make sure it is correct. We have given you pricing on these parts since representation for Lynx and Novarossi is not being handled currently in Europe; we have plans to take care of this shortly. I have sent a paypal request to you at the email provided.

Please respond so I can process the order and get this parts out to you.

Regards,

Zachary Hollis

My dear
About Winbledon I supported him , I was some personal issue and was longher to define the thinks compared the preview time.
Many small factors make longher the support, in any case now everithing is managed by Lynx, we sent info to wimbledon, we wait his confirmation.
I wish he can understand that some time easy thinks can come harder to manage.
But in the end everithing is in place.

Luca,I would stop digging if I were you. What you say is support is not support at all.

Closing a thread because you don't like the truth to come out,not fulfilling repeated promises, telling a owner that has been waiting weeks for a part that it is in the post when it is not and then threating them when they post their experiences of your customer service here on Runryder

Luca you have made it personal not wimbledon99. He is just asking for support for a engine he purchased from your company. The least he should expect is to be able to purchase all the parts in the country of purchase don't you agree?

I accept that in the U.S you guys have good support but here in the U.K it is not the case.

Why the hell has Lynx not got the support in place? The engine has been out for months. If I lost this part from the engine it looks like I would be stuffed I dont want a very expensive paper weight!

This makes me think twice about buying another Novarossi. I know I can get get all the parts next day for a O.S and have back up under warrenty. What good is a engine if you have to struggle for weeks to get a small, basic part and you are told parts are in the post when they are not.

I might sell the Novarossi 57 and get the 55HZ as I don't want to be stuck with a engine I cannot use.

From my days in rc car racing, novarossi has always been flawless in their quality and service. Their knowledge, experience in rc car racing which is always the most demanding environment was top notch. I would like to know if this has at all changed or that opinion is just one off as I was planning to buy one heli engine to try.

Hi guys, i have put a lot of fuel through this motor trying to tune it and cannot get it to run properly. It seems fine when i dont have the governor running but it does run hot (60C on the backplate & 120C on the head) and there is a ton of vibration where you can actually see the rudder servo bouncing while idling and hovering. I am starting to think its the governor but the sensor lights up when the magnet is below and i have gone though the setup on the ATGv3 over 3 times to make sure its right. I have also dropped compression to 0.4mm and im running 15% nitro. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Hi Tommy,

The vibration sounds like something like the start shaft is not aligned or the fan has alot of run out. What heli is the engine in?

I agree with leadlag on the vibration issue. It's not the engine. My NR57 has less vibration than other engines I had in the same heli.

As for the 120°C (248°F) head temp., I believe that is within the normal operating range for this engine. That's what I get in the summertime when air temp is in mid 90's F. Luca posted the temps for the NR57 in one of the closed threads.

As for the OS55, it's a good engine, just not as powerful as the NR57. I have both. There is a big difference.

My only complaint about the NR57 is its inability to run smoothly at slower than peak power RPM. It has to be completely on the crank boost or completely off of it to run smoothly. Sure, you can adjust the peak power RPM a bit by adding shims, but you also loose power in the process. The NR57 is a 3D only engine; whereas the OS55 is a more versatile but weaker engine.

Hi tommyvuitton

1. Could you be tell us at what RPM is the roughness occuring?
2. What fuel, brand or oil content and glow plug are you using?

With high all power (high timming) engines there is a slight tendency to preignite when the temp goes up. If this is what is happening to your engine you have two choices. Shim the head up a bit or try a slightly colder plug. The plug is the easiest to try.

Also the muffler can cause some of this issues too if they have a tune pipe effect to boost power. Some do, most don't.
(a bit of history lesson) Years back when we flew modified timed .61s with tuned pipes, it was a ussual thing to see engines "hang on the pipe" when they got up to temp and would lean and turn rough on the midrange. We changed carburetors, plugs, even underwear if it helped to solved the problems.

Thanks for all your replys guys.

leadlag: I have checked my start shaft (recently changed the block and bearing as well) and it seems as though i have it all lined up ok. I did balance my fan and even my clutch bell. I have this motor in my Vibe 50.

MoneyPitVictim: 1. It seems as though the roughness is right through the whole range of the throttle. When i take off the tail bounces and as soon as i select idle up it gets worse, seems like it holds the rev for about 2 seconds and then a second of decreased power and then the cycle repeats. 2. I am currently using Cool Power LV 15% and an OS8. I tried the HR3 that came with the motor at sea level and it seemed way to rich as i couldnt get it to start.

I am running a os #10 with .4 under the head, tried the original #3 that came with the engine and os #8 both of those made the engine idle rough and sort of vibrate, but with the # 10 plug the engine is very smooth.
