no, it's not a programmable radio - can't be used with collective pitched heli's (electronically mixed anyway).

delta-wing only (ail and ele mixing) for mixing option.

The DX5e is a FIVE channel transmitter. A five channel transmitter cannot support a six (or greater) number of channel functions.

It is NOT a helicopter radio, it has no throttle hold, it has no 6th channel to run collective pitch, it has no idle up modes.

It is a basic, 5-channel, airplane only radio.

If you want six channel functionality, you need to buy a six (or greater) channel transmitter.

If you want 7 channels of functionality, you need a 7 (or greater) channel transmitter.

The DX5e is NOT really a suitable radio for use as a transmitter for a helicopter simulator. It can be done, but you have to make a lot of compromises in the simulator setup.

I bought a DX5e to use as a buddy box, and I would have to say the quality is pretty low compared to the DX6i. That's why I sold it right away. I would definitely recommend the DX6i over the DX5e.

get a dx6i or a dx7, you'll be able to fly any plane or heli plus the 6i has a memory of about 10 models and the 7 has a 20 model memory
