I have dicided to pick up a 450 and am looking at the 450 pro full combo and the sport full combo. which do you guys think , not much of a price diffrence. I also switch over to the new futaba 8fg and what recievers are you guys running in the 450's from futaba.

Pro hands down unless you're a noob or you just prefer a belt driven tail.

I use the R617FS Rx in mine. Too wide to sit flat on the bottom bracket though.

I love the sport, never been a fan of Aligns TT because the gears strip way too easy. One of the nicest flying 450's out there.

I have not had a chance to fly the sport but my pro flys nice. I cant see one flying much if any better than the other you just need to decide if you want a belt or TT

+1 ^^ .It would be nice if Align made some stronger TT gears like MA and TT have because I would love to try the TT on my 450 Sport. Some light weight metal ones would be sweet ..

1+ for the Pro. 1+ for the Align black metal torque tube (which snaps before the gears snap).

They don't work,my buddy went through 7 sets of TT gears last week and the TT hasen't snaped at all yet.He even changed the TT twice now and gears still strip so hes buying a Sport.Seems to change the gears more than flying with the Pro so I guess if your perfect at landing and have a flat spot to land the TT is fine.Lots of post about the gears stripping and the TT don't snap like it should..

If I lost 7 sets of gears in a week...I would go with a sport also

I have about 200 flights on the Pro (and landings) gone through one gear so far (and one boom, mast, spindle, flybar and blades)

7 sets in a week! Time to find a new hobby I have 2 crashes and stripped 2 sets of gears (boom clamp side) still on the stock TT beleave it or not The gears are not that fragile that said the belt will be more forgiven.

I've only broken the TT one time, and that's because I was landing in some high grass. The gears were fine. I just opened up the tail, shook out the broken half of the TT, put another one in, and was flying again. I've been flying the Pro since it came out last year. I like the helicopter so much I bought a second one to fly at night.

I know .It is kinda messed up that the TT don't doesn't break like it should. One buddy put a belt drive on his and the other is buying a Sport and putting the Pro away till hes ready. Not sure why but its allways the rear/top gear that strips which makes it a pain in the butt to change.

I went back and forth on which one to get for a long time. I ended up with the Sport for a few reasons. I do like the TT on my 500....but.

I heard of a few issues with the Pro TT.
I don't care too much for the Pro frame layout.
I like the blue parts on the Sport.
And, I got a smokin' deal on the Sport.

I doubt as far as the TT goes...I personally...probably couldn't tell the difference.

All I have left to do is install the motor/ESC and dial it in...can't wait.

fwiw...

Over the years, I've owned both in many sizes...Set up correctly, the belt works as well as the TT, but has far fewer maintenance issues..One of the first things I look at on a new heli release is..."Belt or Tube"...If its a tube, I keep on looking....Your opinions may vary.

I bought a sport belt setup and was planning on setting it up on my Pro. I think the pro block will work I just have to make up the gear. The TT has been working so good I have not messed with it lately
